Ive installed build 10.1 then 11, sadly to say it made my potc FUBAR. so i reinstalled. Trying to reinstall mithrandirs weather mod, after installation, sky & water are black & `non-existant`. any help would be appreciated, or even a link as to where i can get that 1 mod without having it in a pack or build.

I think the only way you can get the specific mod, mithrandirs weather mod, is thru the Hellangel All, what I think you are referring to as the pack, however with this you can check off only the specific mods that you want to apply to your POTC game after you have downloaded it.

Sorry you had trouble with installing/running Build 11. What specifically happened to your game when you installed? Perhaps we can help you tweak it so things will be normal.

You only will need Build 11.0 as it changes a lot of things that were going on in Build 10.1.

If you had other mods installed besides what was in Build 10.1, they might have caused a conflict.

Like I said, if you could tell us what kind of problem you were having when you installed Build 11.0, perhaps we can help you get things back to normal... We are happy to help!

Build

when i installed the build, i had no ship, no officers, no money, no swords, no guns, all text in the options was gone, IE characters menu, i could see the click bars, but no text, half the time they didnt work when i clicked them. I wouldnt care if it messed my game up except the fact i started a new game & 20 min into it i boarded & captured a manowar with a lugger <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p:" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" /> (only got 7000xp for doing so though <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_twisted.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":twisted:" border="0" alt="icon_twisted.gif" /> ) thank god i stil have my saved games file. o yea 1 other thing, i installed the weather mod when potc first came out & it was a mod by itself in the download section of piratesahoy. now the only place i can find it is in the all `4-1` mod pack & that has only half the files i got the first time i manually installed it.
 
Ohhhkay...

That is a weird one... Sounds like a corrupted install. Did you try doing a clean install - new installation of PotC, PLUS new installation of (only) Build 11? That may clear things up.

You started a new game with Build 11 and encountered a MOW 20 minutes into the game? That should not be... Did you alter your stats before you started?

Also, Mithrandir's weather mod was included with Build 10.1, and is also part of Build 11.0, so you shouldn't have any troubles with it in that respect, and you will NOT need to install it separately.

i choose to install it seperate because that is how i did it the first time, i actually paid the guy @ the store $10 to give me potc a day early lol.
i didnt alter any stats, but i did fight the guy in tutorial until i was level 7 lol (i forget his name). that way i could go to sea with a lugger with some decent skills. actually i cant do a "clean" install because my dog chewed one of my game cd's so there is no `re-installing`, i had to drag from pc on lan which has no mods what so ever except that i dont need a cd to play. installed the weather mod seperate when mods were just coming about. had that problem then with no sky or water, but dont remember how i fixed it as it has been long ago.
 
Many mods, including the weather mod, require restarting the game. (This includes any build btw).
The no items, no names, etc., thing, sounds like you loaded an old save. But correct me if I'm wrong.

Regarding installing 11.0
You _should_ be able to, _no matter_ the mods of your current POTC install 11 right on top of it (make sure Updates is checked though!). And then launch POTC and start a new game.

If you need a "clean" set of PROGRAM*.* and Resourceini*.* files (since your CD's FUBARed) I can mail you those.
 
i dunno if u guys understand the prob im having or not lol. i dont want build 10 it has too much stuff, am selective over what i want etc if that makes sense. i had this prob with the weather mod the first time & dont have to restart a new game. ill get a screen shot of it so you can see what im talking about. its a graphical issue.

notice how i have no water, u can see the sharks & birds but no water.
its not a big deal but sailing on a sheet of glass isnt much fun.
because angelfire is gay you may need to copy & paste or type the url in manually.
