Not a Bug Fred Bob - Max HP changes between Officer & Companion

Talisman

Smuggler
Storm Modder
In Build 14 Beta 4 public Release 2nd April

I have Fred Bob as an Officer ( only one I have) - Captured a ship and made him captain. This caused his HP to increase from 478 to 634 ( increase of 156 ) - when I sold Fred Bob's ship & he became an officer again his HP went back to what it was before.

Is this correct - should HP change for Officers when they are made captains/ companions ? :shrug

What I did - talked to Smugglers on Martinique beach ( Save just before this)
- sailed to Nevis ( on the way captured Spanish ship & made Fred Bob captain)
- arrived at Charlestown, Nevis ( Save here)
- spent night in Tavern ( Fred Bob Levels up )
- go to Charlestown Shipyard ( toss /dump all the cargo/ contraband in Fred Bob's ship )
- sell Fred Bob's ship in shipyard.

Image 1 - on Martinique Beach
Image 2 - arrival at Charlestown Port
Image 3 - after night in tavern
Image 4 - after selling Fred Bob's ship

Error logs are - Nevis using Nevis Save - then go to Tavern - then Shipyard.

Look at PROGRAM\Characters\officertypes\init_officertypes.c .
You'll see that some officer types have a "hpbasebonus" and "hplevelbonus" defined.
That means HP can change when you change officer types.

When you assign a character as a captain, his officer type changes to a "captain type".
So this sounds like it is probably normal behaviour.

This is quite new functionality and part of @Levis' Levelling system.

That's OK :thumbs1

It just looked a bit strange - so I thought it might be a bug.

I have not really managed to understand all of the new Levelling system yet. :read
