<b>Grog</b>
Seamans gave him "Old Grog" as nickname coz o'his `coarse-grained` coat (grogram).

When he generalized, on his ship, the ration of rum with water, the crew named this beverage very appreciated : Grog.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> We have to think o'that!! ARRRRRRRR!!!

Easy Cornish, when Dams says "think" he also means "drink", first we drink the rum, then we figure out where to get a ship.

There are some NICE BIG FANCY sailboats in Marina del Rey, California... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

There is the Endeavour not far from me, the Victory a little further up the line, hmmmm some sail tarining vessels near as well, and of course the two local castles, Pendennis and St. Mawes, of which Pendennis appeared in Hornblower as a French Gun Battery. They defend the port of Falmouth in Cornwall, Falmouth is something like the third or second natural largest Harbour in the World!

I've seen a few barges on the thames........a few rowing boats too <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

Ah i got me a few rowing boats at my rowing club two 18ft four man rowers with a cox'n.

then a 15 foot skiff which is rigged for singular pair of paddles rowing. I kin get that bugger flyin real gud.

Is there room for a lot of rum? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

<!--`QuoteBegin-SirChristopherMings`+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(SirChristopherMings)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Is there room for a lot of rum?  :onya[/quote]

It's very important!!

Ummm... well yes and no if'n ye want em to go fast then no if ye dont mind then yes... we can always transport it out to the little island off the coast of mousehole (thats where i row) appropriately named Shag Island (meant to be after the seabird shag but i'd rather make it live up to its adjective sense) Then steal a ship and run too and fro from it when we want loads more rum whilst others keep topping the island up wiv me row boats and women! (sorry if cat is around) ARGH!

And plus this ere place is real gud for loosing enemies in coz it has loads of nasty reefs and shoals around it only which locals know about.

then once we have established this ere gud place 5 miles east in Mounts bay of the coast of penzance is St. Michaels Mount very steep liddle island with a castle on top for us hows about that, complete with a harbour too only prob is harbour is tidal but we can moor ships off island and keep em under the guard of the cannons.

<a href="http://www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk/" target="_blank">http://www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk/</a>

here be a site for you too look at tis one of me local nice areas of history and the castle i be talkin about!

Ahaaarh also this here be me very very local as in 3 miles away rather than 40 (like St. michaels) castle Pendennis

<a href="http://www.`cornwall-online`.co.uk/`english-heritage`/pendennis.htm" target="_blank">http://www.`cornwall-online`.co.uk...e/pendennis.htm</a>

and the one across from it on tuther side of harbour is called St. Mawes castle after the village it is sat next too.

<a href="http://www.`cornwall-online`.co.uk/`english-heritage`/stmawes.htm" target="_blank">http://www.`cornwall-online`.co.uk...age/stmawes.htm</a>

I think they all make gud places for us to establish ourselves dont u?

Those look like good places to start out from, I'll get my swords and pistols ready. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
