How reduce experience gain?

I didn't manage to reduce the amount of experience which is win after killing people or finishing quest(I put off the automatic skill system). I didn't find any option in the option menu to do that). Is it possible to do that?

With the Auto Skill System off, I'm not sure how to reduce the gain.
You could just not assign your skill points for a while?
