How to tune the lighting?

hi mates,
i'd say that CoAS looks a little dull. the whole screen is darker than that in the POTC.
the sky,the sea,and the ships always looks hazy even when it's fully sunny.
And the buildings in town looks always in the shadow.the evening and morning never show their golden glow - though these were very beautiful in POTC.

Is it possible to tune the lights a little better via the INI files? Then how to do it?
thanks for helps

have you tried at all playing with the gamma, brightness and contrast video settings right in the options menu?

also if you have post processing on you might turn that off, i for one hated the hazy post processing effect the game seemed to create with it it on even farily close objects would look hazy.

What is "post processing"...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Post processing uses your video card to create additional environmental video effects that are put in the scene AFTER the 'raytracing' system creates the scene.

At least thats what post-processing means when discussing it for 3D rendering programs.

thank you Cerebus23.
i ajusted the the graphic options(contra gamma bright ), and tried several combinations, but there is no big change.
after the post-processing was turned off , it looks more clear, but the buildings are still dark.
i tried to modify the ini files, but it doesn't works.it seems the light can't reach the buildings at sunrise and sunset, it always looks cloudy, except at noon.
don't know why the developer made a setting like this,it' much better keeping the Potc setting,or at least the aop setting.
i like the potc color style,it looks much brighter and shinier, especially the beautiful sunset.

Yeah the atmosphere there indeed looks unreal.. also the water being so transparent that you can see the seafloor is wrong and it's creeping me out. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

have you tried starting a new game after modifying the ini? dunno but seems the save games do tend to save some odd settings in the save files. worth checking at lest.
