Go to the governor of your choice and ask for a Letter of Marque. He will either grant it to you or sell it to you, depending upon your reputation. Once you have the LOM, do all the errands you can for the governor (mostly pirate hunting) and he will reward you with land and money and promotions. Eventually you will have a rank suitable, and he will introduce you to his daughter or innumerable nieces. Chat them up, and you will eventually get the option to propose.

She sometimes will get in the way of things - just try to hold off the rapists until she gets out of the way. They are generally random - as your skill in swordsmanship and melee grows you will be able to access better swords at merchants. One way to get a good sword right away is to do the tutorial but DO NOT patronize ANY merchants until you have gone into the sewer (dungeon) in Oxbay and made enough money - maybe about 20,000 - 35,000 gold (possible but will take a LONG TIME). The first merchant you deal with will have ALL the blades &tc so you can buy them.
The best way to do this is to save before you go into the dungeon, and then save after you're out. Go to the merchant and sell all the swords and guns you have collected - and you will then see if you have enough money to buy the sword you want. If you do not, load up your last save and go back into the dungeon for more. Repeat...

Yes, yes, but the islands are not quite ready so are not yet in the Build. New locations include being able to access forts (for conquest) and new areas of towns. Some are not finished yet but you can at least visit them.

Okay, this last one is a biggie, and difficult to explain.
There are extra sections to Oxbay town as you go out the gate - instead of going into the jungle right away, you will be taken to a new part of town. It will look like Falaise de Fleur or Redmond, but you will still be in Oxbay. Out the FdF gate is the fort.
Not sure about Redmond, other than there were extra rooms added to the church (try the back door!). I think this is unfinished.
Play the Fred Bob quest for new things to do - it starts by going to FdF and talking to the wharf rat at the bottom of the stairs to the Harbormaster's office at the main port. Pay him a coin and let him talk. He'll eventually ask if you are a captain and if you are looking for a good boatswain. Keep talking to him.
