Ive finished the game, but still have a few questions

Powder Monkey
Ok I have finished the game it seems, it was a good game but just ended very abruptly. Anyway I have a few questions:

Is famous the last rank of this kind?

Do colonies generally get you a lot of money?

Does having your flag design as a certain nation stop you from getting attacked from that nation?

Is there a button you can press to take screenshots and save them automatically like other games – print screening is annoying especially as you cant alt tab out the game!?

Is there a way for me to get good relations with other nations now?

What’s the maximum amount of ships you can personally own?

Does the title of vice king actually mean anything to gameplay?

Do your fighters use shots from guns when boarding?

Do the skills your captives have work on your ship? – or should I just release em all?

is the 4 shot gun the gun with the most charges, or does it go up to six (as i expect) ?

And is there a quicker way to sail on the world map?

Spoiler warning!!!

When your in the cave with Beatrice, I always gave the best nicest answer, however if you said carry on fighting I will kill you for all the money or something to that effect what actually happens?

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Is there a button you can press to take screenshots and save them automatically like other games – print screening is annoying especially as you cant alt tab out the game!?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I don't think so. There's nothing mentioned in the manual.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Is there a way for me to get good relations with other nations now?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Paying the diplomat at Isla Mona will raise your reputation to "Rascal", meaning their ships won't attack you and their forts won't shoot when you try to enter harbour. On the other hand, I've recently paid him to make peace with Holland (mainly because in this game, I'm still working for England, whose governor had just told me to collect some cargo from St. Martin, which you can't do if you're at war with Holland.) I can sail into port, but everyone in town hates me - women run away and any man with a sword draws it. Getting to the store is interesting... The last time I tried playing the main quest, paying off nations at Isla Mona also meant they didn't attack my ship, but they still attacked my colonies; however, that was while continuing under version 1.50 with a game which had been started under 1.41, which probably caused some problems.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->What’s the maximum amount of ships you can personally own?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->The number of ships you can control is your Tactics skill divided by 2, rounded down, so if you have the maximum skill of 10, you can have 5 ships.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Do your fighters use shots from guns when boarding?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Yes. Watch the stars above their icons - those represent how many shots are loaded in their guns. If the star is red, he's fired.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Do the skills your captives have work on your ship? – or should I just release em all?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->They're prisoners - they're locked up until you release them.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->is the 4 shot gun the gun with the most charges, or does it go up to six (as i expect) ?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I haven't seen anything bigger than 4 shots. This isn't the Wild West, the 6-shooter probably hasn't been invented yet. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Or you can be half nice, tell her that her plan is insane, and split the loot, in which case you get half the money and no experience points. The quest remains open in the logbook, so I've yet to see if anything further develops.

thanks a lot, i found the guy at isle mona and yea being a rascal is cool, i also found that if you build churches in your colonys you can pay the preist to make you a hero with a particular nation for about the same as the dude in isle mona!

for some reason my men never shoot, i see the starts but they never turn red, meh and i thought it looked like there were stars for more shots, lol a 6 shot shooter would be pretty funny to see the 4 shot pistol looks quite joke.

Spoiler warning!

ah i should have killed her and got myself the skillpoints!

Have you given your men pistols? And the skill to use them? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I don't often use the pistol in deck combat either, mainly because I can't often get a clear line of sight to an enemy and am more likely to hit one of my own guys. All my officers now have quad-barrel pistols. Sometimes one of them gets a shot off.

Answers to another couple of questions:
There may be further ratings beyond "famous". And you may be able to lose fame. Check the early entries in the rumours section of your log, where it mentions various characters now working for various nations. One of mine referred to a certain "notorious corsair" working for the Spanish. Some time later I found a green-sailed ship on the world map which happened to belong to this guy, now showing the French flag. After I'd boarded his ship and killed him, the next tavern rumour said that this "famous corsair" had been found dead.

Colonies can generate money, especially if you are able to build a gold mine or silver mine. You can transfer money between the colony's gold and your own. However, it costs a lot of money to build things. On the other hand, by the time you're ready to take colonies, you probably have a lot of money and not much to do with it, so you may as well use it developing colonies.
