jack sparrow quest problem

A walkthrough is also a nice suggestion, but might require more work than changing just the questbooks around a little bit to make it easier to find the location, I do know how affected a simply download can be though and with a walkthrough there is a posibility people wont read it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I was thinking more in the lines of a posted walkthrough on PA - so no download - unless you want to print it out.
I remember, about a hundred and frozen to death, years ago when I first started playing Sea Dogs (my entry into the pirate genre) I did exactly that and referred to it when I got "really" stuck.

I will try a walk through for Hornblower and see how that is received. (in fact I might try two - dead simple and spoilers blanked out) See how much time I have.
A walkthrough does have one other advantage - you can see if it's the type of game you want to play - (lot's of sea battles vs lot's of treasure hunts for example).

I come back on langage problem

Some times, dialogs are very difficult and when i don't understand all words i must stop the play and go to read the "dialog.c" file to translate with dictionnary. Sometimes that is not easy and the game play will go very difficult but not impossible. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />

I think it's a good idea to use more simple word in the questbook <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />)

Sorry for my english, I hope you understand <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />2

Thanks Pieter for putting the link up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

Hi!
I have a problem in Isla de Muerta, after i went there with Will and Gibbs, Will hit me. Then i have to find the Interceptor with Barbossa.
I went on a Pearl.. sank the Interceptor.... and nothing happen... What do I do? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

The code says that once you got the Interceptor's HP down to 1500, you should be reloaded to a ship's deck.
There's a fair amount of skipped code at that point, but it should work.

Everytime I have done it I reload to the deck <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I saw a few references to this in the thread but I have yet to see any direct answers:

What is the verdict on the absent EITC building? I can't find it either. I know the location, and I've checked all of the houses in that area. None of them teleport me anywhere; they're all just regular doors that can't be opened.

Someone said it was because the patch eliminated certain elements necessary to the Jack Sparrow storyline? Something like that?

I'm playing on Alpha 9.5 Patch 1. If anyone has an answer to this, please speak up. Thanks.

When you arrive at Port Royale Cutler Beckett should talk to you immediately on the jetty. this should activate the EITC building.

If he does not talk to you, is not there, or talks to you somewhere else( ie Captains Cabin) it will not work.

If Cutler Beckett does not appear on the jetty, it could be because of the moor command, ( the game does not like moor when an NPC starts dialog immediately after you land for some reason) when you land in port Royale use the Port/shore option and hopefully Beckett will appear on the jetty and talk to you.

Thanks Talisman... that was very nicely explained <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Since Cutler Beckett appearing on the jetty seems to still be causing people problems - Would it be worthwhile changing the trigger to opening the EITC office to talking to Cuttler Beckett in the capt cabin on his ship, I think the dialogue if you talk to him there is currently the same, and removing Beckett from the jetty.

This should overcome the moor/port problem, but might need a hint somewhere that you need to go to his cabin to see him. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/readon.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="readon.gif" />

Just a suggestion.

Pieter and I will be playing through the full storyline and making some small changes. I will be looking into the whole Cutler Beckett on the jetty thing and trying to fix it
