Hi guys,

I'm just getting started in AoP. Do any of you have any suggestions as to whether I should use any mods or just play the patched original?

If so, what mods should I use and why?

For a start, if you've already run the game without using a mod then your PC is now infected with Starforce. You really do not want this; have a search round this forum for "Starforce" to find out why. Here's a page with instructions on how to remove it:
<a href="http://www.glop.org/starforce/remove.php" target="_blank">http://www.glop.org/starforce/remove.php</a>

Now you have a choice. The official version 1.50 patch can be found here:
<a href="http://www.playlogicgames.com/uploads/tx_playlogic/download/60_AOP_15.exe" target="_blank">http://www.playlogicgames.com/uploads/tx_p...d/60_AOP_15.exe</a>
And then you'll need a No-DVD patch so you can play the game without suffering from Starforce. I got mine from <a href="http://www.gamecopyworld.com" target="_blank">www.gamecopyworld.com</a> Make sure you get the right one; there are different patches for different versions of the game.

Alternatively, there's the Supermod, available here:
<a href="http://hosted.filefront.com/CyberOps" target="_blank">http://hosted.filefront.com/CyberOps</a>
This includes a NoDVD patch so you won't need a separate one. It fixes some but not all of the bugs which the official version 1.50 patch fixes, introduces a couple of minor bugs, and opens up new places such as jungles and a couple of buildings.

There's also a re-pack of the Supermod which is supposed to also include all the version 1.50 updates:

I haven't tried this one myself yet so don't know how it performs.
