It is in Pieter Boelen's modpacks only. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Oh my ..

Not quite what I would usually read, but with this handsome picture in mind I had to read right through it.

Thanks again for the link.

That book is indeed very good! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Not in Pieter's `post-12` incorporated additions? I don't believe so, no. And with how common they are it should be impossible not to find them in a B12 game.

Just start boarding ships; they'll show up! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

They are implemented in my modpack thingey though. But their rarity should indeed be somewhat edited. I'll see what I can do...

Ok, but can you tell it to us when pistols pack will be ok, because i'm a lot interested in...

Thanks!

If you install my modpack, you should have the braces of pistols properly working. The only drawback is that they're quite common. But that'll be changed within a few days' time.

Remember those fishswords I started the thread with? I'm almost done with working my Curio into the game; I'll release it in a few days. I feel a bit bad for the delay, I basically had this done a year ago but put it aside in favor of a lot of half-baked ideas that I could never ge to work out.

It'll start out real basic, like the Opium Den and Apothecary, but eventually I will try and add more. You'll be able to buy four versions of the Fishsword at the Curiosities Shop, and if I can make it work before I release it the curator of the place, Quentin Basil Narborough (whose Peter Sellers accent I may have to tone down a bit in the dialog) will buy and sell all your crazy Incan artefacts.

So I need to know: Is the code in place for trader-specific items? I don't see any of that in the Build so I dunno how to work with it.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> I remember seeing it, but it's been so long, I'm dogged if I know where. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Sorry, not much help, am I? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I think CCC may know more about this - I think he was the one who set it up.

There is some code added that has something to do with it, yes. In the InternalSettings.h file, the IT_TYPE_CURIO is already defined. I'm not sure where it's being used though... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
Have a look at the items_utilite.c file. Apparently, the curio shop isn't there yet, but if you look at case IT_TYPE_BLACKSMITH:, you might be able to figure out how to set your own new trader type, IT_TYPE_CURIO. You need to set this trader type for your character as well. I believe it can be done in the character init files by adding a ch.itemtrade.tradetype = IT_TYPE_CURIO; flag or something like that. Or you can do it through a dialog file (for exmaple: look at Gregor Samsa's dialog.c file). I hope you'll be able to find out how it works.
What kind of items will your curiosities shop sell?

I will give all that a try when I can Pieter, thanks. For the items, besides the ones I will make very specific to him alone, I'd like to make him the only buyer/seller of many of the random Aztec artefacts - some of the skill-enhancing trinkets, and the piddly-diddly crap like clay pots and cups that just aren't worth anything to a regular trader... I think it would be worth the trip to Redmond to get more money for the otherwise useless items.

Or at least, he'd pay more for them than the other traders, giving the player the opportunity to fleece him if they want to buy cheap somewhere and sell high to him. I dunno if it'd be cool with everyone if I limited the itemtrading so much, to assign more to him alone than perhaps i should.

I certainly don't mind. Sounds like an excellent idea. There's nothing wrong in making useless items useful, I'd say. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Maybe he doesn't mind paying a higher price for them? Maybe he's collecting, stockpiling and trading with Europe at a premium? Could be establishing a monopoly on Caribbean and South American artifacts? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
