Love the game but some problems

Hello

As this is my first post i want to send a big thanks to cyberops for all the work and time they have put into devoloping and fixing this game. i really love it now and am sure i would not have played it without the updates.

However while playing the game i came across a few problems that are just soo annoying and am not a modder so i cant do anything about it. I hate to complain but below is a list of problems that i have faced soo far after playing the game for less than 20 hours.

I have read a lot about the game in this and other forums but i couldnt find anything

1. When i go to Petit Goave and try to go to the bank the game gets stuck and the screem goes black. I can do fast travel but there is no destination

2. also i want to know if i can even deposit money in a bank and be able to get it back or if i borrow money will i have to give it back in time and if i dont what will happen

3. i was sailing in sea mode a couple of times and the game starts to make a weird noise then it quits to desktop.

4. in tortuqua, when i do fast travel, there is an icon of a castle but no name. when i go in a woman asks if i want to sleep/rest. If i rest or not, when exiting the place i find my self not it tortuqua but some other island and my ship is not with me.

5. when i am next to an island and i fast sail to port, sometimes part of my ship goes into the island and then it looses all health and starts to sink. Other times when fast sailing to port my ship just hits the island and bounces off like a bullet in to the sea spinning and the whole game is spinning.

6. sometimes i get messages written in some symbols i dont understand, it doesnot look like a language bucause it is not reqular.

Thank you for reading and your help is very appreciated

p.s. shall i install the game and before playing apply the "AOP_Supermod_FULL_Repack_5" or all the 5 updates in order.

Hello az4lyf, and welcome to the PA! forums!

CyberOps has ceased working on the SuperMod in favour of working on his company's Pirate Simulator game (which may or may not even exist, there's many things pointing to the whole company being a fraud - more about this can be found here: <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11558&st=0" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?sh...=11558&st=0</a> ). I played the game before installing the SuperMod, and trust me, you want to avoid doing so! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Most importantly, start off with a fresh install, and DO NOT restart your computer if asked to do so - install the SuperMod right away. Doing this avoids StarForce being installed, and that's definitely an experience to miss!

The SuperMod still contains many bugs, which likely won't be fixed any time soon, if at all. When you decide to install it, get Danny2007's Repack from here: <a href="http://hosted.filefront.com/Dannyb2007" target="_blank">http://hosted.filefront.com/Dannyb2007</a> Make sure to download the file entitled "AOP_Supermod_FULL_Repack_5.exe". Ignore the other file. Danny fixed several bugs present in the last official release of the SuperMod, and has included Updates 1 through 5.

About the bugs you found:

1. The Banks are still a very problematic feature - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I'd recommend just avoiding them.

2. As far as I know, you can get your money back, but the one time I tried to do this, the game crashed. I don't know if you can borrow money from the Banks.

3. The game does this quite often - it's the same with PoTC, and I'm guessing it does this because both games run on slightly different versions of the same engine. My only advice is to save often! Anything can happen.

4. That'd be the infamous Tortuga-to-Guadeloupe teleport. You CAN get back to your ship if you buy another from the shipyard and sail back to Tortuga, but the game doesn't work very well if you decide to do this. For example, your location on the paper map stays wrong, no matter where you go (at least, this is the case for me).

5. Best advice here would be to just sail into the port in 3D sailing mode rather than fast sail - you could also furl your sails when you're still outside of port, wait until your ship quits moving, then fast sail to the port - your sails should still be furled.

6. That would be the un-translated parts of the game - as far as I know, that language is the Russian Cyrillic alphabet. If you look closely at the images in the paper manual (if you received one - apparently, many did not), most of them are entirely in Russian! That's all poor workmanship on the part of the developer.

Also, if you happen to want to get rid of StarForce components off your computer from this or any other game, do this:

1. Go to the Device Manager and list the Non-PnP Devices. Uninstall all the Starforce entries and reboot ONLY after the last one is uninstalled.

2. Use Search and search for and delete these files: "sfsync*.sys", "sfhlp*.sys", "sfdrv*.sys" (ignore the quotation marks).

3. Go to regedit (Start-->Run-->regedit) and delete ANY entries related to: "sfsync", "sfhlp", "sfdrv" (ignore the quotation marks).

Don't bother using the official removal tool, as all it does is deactivate the drivers - it doesn't remove them.

I hope this helps! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
