Mutiny on escort missions

Something which annoys me a lot is the fact that a lot of times the escort missions you can get in the tavern result in a mutiny on the other ship. Probally because the leadership of the captain of that vessel is to low. Is this intentional and do you for example need to assign a officer to the ship to make sure they don't rebel. Or does it has something to do with the fact those ships don't have food and rum on board? But is it my task then to feed them? In most cases the morale of those crews is very low already and I could highten theire morale but then then the cost is to high.
Or is this a bug which can be solved?

The problem is because the reputation of the quest trader is 100% random, so it could be REALLY bad and REALLY good.
However, a big discrepancy in reputation between the player and a companion captain now hurts the companion ship's morale.

Please try the fix attached to this post: http://www.piratesahoy.net/threads/build-14-beta-3-progress.20686/
That changes the quest trader generation code so that their reputation varies only between Swindler and Matey.
This should make such mutinies much more avoidable.

If it still happens, we can completely exempt them from the companion mutiny feature.

I personally think you should just give the trader the same reputation as the player. Or does that affect other things also?
I mean say I'm a "good" person, then a "bad" person probally wouldn't want me to escort him because I will probally betray him because he is shipping contraband and the other way around. But again I don't know what all is affected by the reputation of the trader.
I will try the fix. Thanks for that.

That is not a bad idea, actually. NOTHING else is affected by his reputation anyway.
And it indeed doesn't make much sense for quest traders to ever mutiny. They're not your REAL companions, after all.

To test your suggestion, extract attached to PROGRAM\QUESTS .
I added a little bit of randomization around the player rep to make it a bit more varied/less obvious.
