Take a look at the "sticky" topics in this forum, DevilDog, they'll point you in the right direction - check the Wiki especially, I think there are (or going to be) some good tutorials there on modeling.

i see that you can edit a file called nations init check out the file in your potc folder. it looks as though it might be possible. to add a new nation.

you can, and actually i sort of already have done (i was planning on doing a new quest which would involve a new nation, but haven't got round to actually putting in the quest). you have to change much more than nations_init.c though.

Yes, it's pretty involved. But it can be done.

A simpler way would be to just add a customized sail or flag for your ship. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> The rest of it all would be just attitude. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
