What can I say, I'm a pirate geek. Love the age of sail. Love the thought of both the good and the bad pirates and privateers. The thought of sailing on the open sea, with nothing in sight but water and sky. The sound of the rigging, the men bustling about doing their jobs.

Just my kind of time. A time of adventure and mystery.

And another good game I'm definitely hooked on at this point is Voyage Century Online. Absolutely free to play MMOG. Sailing, crafting, fighting & fun. Been playing it non-stop this last week helping with the Alpha test.
Hoping I'll get lucky and make it into the closed beta.

Here's a link for everyone to check out, this game ROCKS!!!

I'll be writing up a review and character story shortly that I'll also give a link to.

Enjoy the linkage guys, hope you like this cool looking game.

Someone posted a link to this a long while back, but it mostly got ignored...I checked it out though because of a rumor that it was based on roughly the same engine as PotC, and I wanted to see if you could take ships from it and put them into PotC. Needless to say, all I could get were the textured hulls with no masts, so apparently it IS possible, I just couldn't figure out how <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> If I remember, though, there were two MoWs that were especially beautiful...and Napoleonic era in style...so if anyone could figure out how, it would be quite a welcomed accomplishment! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I've been playing the heck out of the Alpha so far, and I must say, this is one of the best pirating games I've ever played.

There are more things to do and see than you can shake a stick at. Crafting, merchanting, fighting and more can all be done.

Get tired of doing things in town, go out and slay pirates, or even be a pirate yourself(beware though, piss off the major shipping powers too badly, and every white sailed ship on the sea will be after your head).

The map is absolutely huge(it covers all of the earth, sadly it doesn't wrap around. Orient is on the far right side of the map, US & Caribbean is on the far left. You character starts in about the middle, in the deep mediteranean, either in Athens or Alexandria.

I'm getting ready to post up some screenshots I took of a Monstrous engagement of player ships agains a fleet of AI's, I'll at that link to this post once I'm done sending over the pics.

Anyhow, check this game out guys.

Skull, I have a feeling that we are going to eventually need a forum for this game anyhow. Though IGG(the makers of the game) have a very active and busy set of forums themselves.

Thats a link to some screenshots of a multiplayer combat agains AI opponents I was involved in earlier this week. At least 25 player ships and at times it seemed 100 or more AI vessels in the clash.

Enjoy the pics, guys!

you know what i think is weird? If i look at the screenshots they HAVE cannon models, and in the gm viewer they are painted on. Am i right or....

In-game, they appear to be actual models. But I'm not really sure yet, Thomas.
