Pirates on eBay?!!?!!!

Unholy Terror,
Storm Modder
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> A lot of pirate items on eBay are just trying to cash in on the word pirate, such as a knife listed as a "pirate knife" when it has nothing on it to make any such association to pirates. A lot of tall ship images are listed as "pirate" ships simply because some people apparently have no concept otherwise. It has sails, it must be a pirate ship. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I've been a longtime eBayer - selling and buying - and a lot of my searches on eBay are simply to find interesting pictures to archive for a later time when I can make my own pirate website - something I WILL do in the future... In the meantime, I thought perhaps it would be fun to list some interesting piratical things that have been offered up for auction on eBay.

Note: I welcome anyone to find interesting piratical things on eBay to post in this topic, but please don't overdo it with the knives and blades unless they are historical and truly intriguing. There are so many modern junk blades on eBay right now. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

THIS, however, does not mean you cannot post <i>schmaltz</i> like pirate rubber duckies: <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1467&item=5516929719&rd=1" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5516929719&rd=1</a>

Post pics if you like, but please don't hyperlink to pics on eBay as these pics may be removed as soon as the auction expires. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Here's a funny Halloween or costume party mask:

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19250&item=5917549029&rd=1" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5917549029&rd=1</a>

Sir Christopher Myngs card from the card game Pirates of the Spanish Main:

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2537&item=5917705839&rd=1" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5917705839&rd=1</a>

That's enough for now. If there's interest, I'll post some others in a few days. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Ha, those duckies are funny!

And Kat, thanks about that pin, that pic went into my repository of pirate pics... It's not "pirate" but it's kinda cool anyhow.

BTW, if you haven't noticed, there are few lassies around this port... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

True that it doesn' hav' a Jolly roger on it, b't it is one o' th' types o ships that pirates an privateers favor'd...from th design o' th pin it looks like a Cog, which was mainly used fer merchant tradin, b't also by privateers an often fool'd oth'r ships into false security when oth'r flags were flown, becaus' o what they wer' suppos'd to be...O' cours' all me information miht not be accurat' b't Im tryin' to do th' best by me memory. Myself I'm saving up to buy some 17th century pistol replicas. Cheers!

Practice makes perfect, you know! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I love the old small swords I posted, I LOVE finding stuff like that, it's so INTERESTING... I mean, these are the real thing, everyone!!! Not a replica, the REAL THING...

I think I might buy that PeaceFrogs shirt. Pirates of the Amphibians, LOL!!!

They say yer c'n buy almos anythin' on ebay...I wond'r if anyon' e'er sold a real wodden sailin' ship o' full siz' on it? E'en in tis modern age, if I 'ad th' funds I'd want a sailin ship o' me own...probably a sloop o' privateer if I coul' fin' th' crew to man it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Kat, I am *sure* someone has sold a real wooden sailing ship on eBay... There are a lot of boats and ships for sale on eBay.

This 25 footer has a teak hull, unfortunately there are not a lot of pics, follow the link to the owner `co-op` website.
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63730&item=2488537457&rd=1" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...2488537457&rd=1</a>

Here's something kinda outrageous, it's a 40 foot 1958 Chinese Junk made of Teak, with three masts:
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63731&item=2488247824&rd=1" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...2488247824&rd=1</a>

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" /> I want THIS one!!! Only US $975,000.00 (+?)
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63731&item=2487804646&rd=1" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...2487804646&rd=1</a>

More history behind the above 59 foot 1916 sailing yacht:
<a href="http://newyork40rowdy.com/" target="_blank">http://newyork40rowdy.com/</a>

<sigh> IN MY DREAMS... I'll moor it next to my Catalina Flying boat that was ALSO sold on eBay... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Darrr...perhaps I shoul' o' been more specific thoug...I mean somethin' at least as larg' as a Sloop or Caravel...thoug' yer choic's are interestin' enoug' I want on' lik' th' ship moored down th' street from us, thoug' 'er name escapes me at th' moment...must o' be'n too much rum <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

I really do like the 59 footer. Maaaan that's a sweet ship!!!

I figured you were looking for something bigger, but SFAIK those are the only ones on eBay right now.

There WAS a Catalina Flying Boat for sale on eBay once. Whew... Talk about a RELIC... Really cool, tho. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
