Need Help Problem with boarding ships GOF 1.2

The problem started occuring when I stole myself a new Heavy Galeon it seems. Now i can only board ships bigger then mine for some reason. I get closer than I should be for boarding but the icon just isn't there. I switched a few ships but the problem still persists. Could be that I unlocked some perk that prevents me from boarding small ships?

its a bug, i have had the same thing as i get up in rank past 35. i can sail down a line of say 8 ship spanish convoy and only board 3 of the 8 sometimes. really wish they'd fix that with the next mod.

Ah goddammit. What happens if you reset the rank to 1 with cheat engine?
