Problem with VISTA?

Hello everyone,

Just go my my new comp with vista and I can run the plain old game but after installing some mods 12 & 13 I get a black screen but the sound is their and it's running. Any suggestions? As a side note I also play silenthunter3 and it too will run as the standard game but I can't install the 1.4 patch. Kinda strage, but I'm sure someone will find a way to fix this problem. Anyway, if anyone has an idea as to PotC - please help.

Vista is still years away from Prime-Time usage.

I use Vista as well and PotC does run. Not perfectly, but it works. I found that changing the compatibility mode makes it work better. You might try that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I couldn't run PotC when I installed it on my Vista laptop after it had worked on my XP desktop. So I installed it on an XP laptop that isn't mine but it didn't work there either... I tried running it in XP compatibility mode, is there anything else i can do at all to fix this? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" /> Thanks

Just a little more information. I start it up and it displays the developer logos and stuff... Then it goes onto the menu and I can adjust options or press new game. If i press new game i get a loading screen with the spinning thing and then it disappears and says "ENGINE has stopped working" so it doesn't work. I haven't installed any patches or mods. Grrr!

That would explain why it didn't work on another laptop which was running XP... Indeed. Intel + PotC apparently hardly ever works. I am very pleased I have a laptop with a proper GeForce in there so that PotC does work.
