Problems with lags

Hi ho!
My question is... I have P IV 2,6 Ghz +Geforce 2 MMX 64MB +384 RAM and Im playing POTC with this settings 800x600 32bit textures High and I got lags <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_twisted.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":twisted:" border="0" alt="icon_twisted.gif" /> where problem is?

Aye Fred Bob, if ye change yer Video Image quality from best image tew High Performance,it cuts down de lag time,at least it does with me GF3 card <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

What version of XP you got??
That depends on where you are from.
There is some slight diffrence betwine say a frence version and a american......not much but something maybe in ohter places.

www.microsoft.com will probely help you in worst cases <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

haha tnaks skull! potc works 100% whitout lagg what so ever and i can have much better grapichs! + i manged to get BattleField: Vietnam working smooth so now im playing that too <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

If you can afford to, do the following things:

1. Ditch the GeForce and get a newer card. I bought an ATI RADEON 9600 Pro for $129 at Best Buy, and it works great.

2. Try cranking colors down a notch to 16 bit. It's rare that you can tell the difference.

3. More RAM. RAM is your friend. Get as many friends as you can. I run 512, and by year out, it will be 1GB.
