I am using The Build 14 Alpha with the Update to Version 2 & everytime I go to Santiago I get CTDs trying to go from ship to shore.

yup, me too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> <!--sizeo:1--><span style="font-size:8pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->mutter...mutter...stupid stinkin' santiago..mutter<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

F-11 fixed it for me. Using build 13 .1 ( Amsterdam ship in it update ).

I wont mess with 14 until you spray more raid on it .

Still get CTD's trying to go from ship to shore at Santiago, even after pressing F-11.
Even after landing at Cuba Shore 2 & going into Santiago through the jungle, as soon as I tried to go through the gates into the Port the game CTD's.

pieter, if you read this, this is probably the problem: CCC's fix contained a .tga file for santiago. because you said that the fix had been added in build 14 alpha2 fixes, i removed the fix i had downloaded to my computer. i did check if the files where really there, because i was curious where i should have put the files of the fix, becuase i apparantly had put them in the wrong place. what i noticed was that the tga file for santiago wasn't included in the files from build 14 alpha2 fixes. i didn't add it, becuase i thought it wasn't needed after all. i think that the missing tga file included in CCC's fix is the problem. add it to the fix and it should work without any problems.

Meanwhile you can download those files from the bugtracker

<a href="http://swankyplace.com/potcbugs/view.php?id=308" target="_blank">http://swankyplace.com/potcbugs/view.php?id=308</a>

i'll put the tga file in the right place (as i know where it should go now) and see if i was right. the other file(s) where incuded in the fixes.

just a sec...i know where to put them, but i forgot where the file was. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> i'll find it soon enough.<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

EDIT: RESOURCE\foam\locations\town_Oxbay\port <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> the other file you can get in the link is already there.

WARNING: i do not know if this works! i'll try in a moment, and if it does, i'll tell you guys.

i noticed something: if you open the file 'santiago_port' it sais that it loads the file for oxbay, while it should load the file for santiago. i changed that piece of code, and i'll see if that makes a difference. (i hadn't tested it yet the way it was, but i thought i was of significance that you knew)

ok, my configuration didn't work, i'll try pressing F11 first, and if that doesn't work, i'll put back the original configuration.

Woops. I put the file in as Santiago_port.tga instead of Santiago_port.tga.ZAP. STUPID! No wonder it didn't work right. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

huh? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> wha? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> can i change this? is it a simple factor of changing a name? don't i have to do what i was planning to do anymore? (except changing the name back)

Just put the file from the Bug Tracker in the right folder and it should work.

ok, i'll post it here if it doesn't for some odd reason. which i doubt, but you never know.

nope, still doesn't work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> i'll post the error and compile log.

here's the compile log (the last bit):

locator_name = reload_1 lockedReloadLocator =
reload_cur_island_index = 10
reload_cur_location_index = -1
reload_island_index = -1
reload_location_index = 232
Start reload
ResetSoundScheme
PauseAllSounds
ReloadStartFade
ReloadEndFade
LoadLocation(ref loc) Santiago_port
ItemLogic: On load location Santiago_port
ItemLogic: found 0 buttons
ItemLogic: Loaded model ammo\\blade12
ItemLogic: Loaded model ammo\\blade16

and here's the error log (but still very short):

RUNTIME ERROR - file: Reinit.c; line: 536
Using reference variable without initializing
RUNTIME ERROR - file: Reinit.c; line: 536
Invalid function argument
RUNTIME ERROR - file: Reinit.c; line: 536

do you need that one called system as well?

wait a minute, RESOURCE\foam\locations\town_Oxbay\port IS the right place is it? and are you sure that the thing i noticed isn't important? as the one from the bugtracker is the same. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
