Hello I came by this great forum. So here ill post a link that supports a Simulated Pirate and Role Play in the 3d virtual world of “Second Life”
So just to give the people that have never heard of second life and is interest I will point out some things you should know. One it is Free. Thant is a great pointer. The down fall for some who are interested in playing a role play it is not just an out of a box game in itself, you have to use a viewer that is also for free and is not a RPG online game. In second life you have many worlds just about anything you can imagine the role play or just world to visit with anything again you can imagine. So there are people who developed the 18th century theme and put a huge amount of work and money to get theses sims underway.

You can use the second life viewer to start off with but most people end up using Firestorm or as known to many Phoenix Viewer and has more useful features built in

Now jest to get your head wrapped around the whole concept I first would create an account and wonder around the world first and get used to the system and learn how to dress yourself and know what it is allabout to join groups and the use of other functions.
When you enter you will be considered a newbie and there is a lot of help centers there that can teach you all that you need to know in the virtual world and how to use the tools.
Once your comfortable using the viewer and you know how to use the basic function then you can introduce yourself to the pirate worlds and many are willing to help you and take you under their wings and some just don’t have the time. it will take a while to get the full grasps of the role play and there will be a lot to take in, but at the end you will most probably have the greatest adventures ever than any other game online.
The 3d 1800 century Sims are fantastic built and there are a lot of people always building up on the sims with incredible visual effects, and yes you can learn how to build also.
But just a little heads up. There is not just pirates in the waters, you have the Americans continentals to deal with, Royal Navy, 24th royal regiment, gypsies, mermaids. And much more and there . there are also many who just love to role play in the royal courts and power their faces all day ARRRRR
As you can see if the pirate role play is not your cup of tea, there is just general role play of the 1800 Century you can play.
Once you log in your not a pirate right away , but you get choose your avatar you want and at the pirate Sims they offer starting packages where you get cloths and flintlock guns and small boats are given out for free, and there is a meter that we put on for battles called the spd-j that measures your damage.
If you want to join the army or royal navy or usa navy they will give all the uniforms for free. And some are willing to pay second life money called lindens to join their operations and you can use these lindens to by upgrades. If you get a lot you can convert it back to real money but that would take a long time to build up to be worth while.
Any upgrades you will have to pay for it . But once you build you character and invest in some innovatory for the role play, it is a life time investment, you won’t have to pay for it again. Possible you may want to try other ships out and have your own collection like most of us do.
One down fall is that there are some sims that are age verification other wise if you don’t go through the process you won’t be able to enter into the sim, there are adult content in some of the sims and the role play can get graphic at times and some take their role play very seriously.
The people who role play come from all ages, young and old and we all get along just great.
Are you a story writer or teller, these people are invaluable, some of us have wite up basic battles for events and some of us would like to have more of detail battle plan, so there are different levels of battle that get played out. But some people just come in to tell stories around the camp fire and tell it in live feed. SO the flexibility of the virtual world platform is incredible. But as I said it takes time to get to know it and figure things out but once you’re hooked, you’re really hooked.
