strange things are going on in the archipelago quest

hi, now That bug is hapening everytime i board too!

not just those Devil or 666 ships but when i board Holland,spain,england etc.

all the ships i board or those that surrender, when i board and talk to the "captain" it says "you cannot speak to dead enemies. your name is hamlet. maybe?" and then i cannot do anything, i must load my last savegame....

what can i do?

Everytime? I had the boarding bug from time to time, but this sounds <i>really</i> weird.

Copy the bolded part in your X:/PotC/PROGRAM/console.c and press F12 if you´re stuck on a boarded ship. Hope this helps.

P.S. One question: Has the main story been rewritten? I talked to the guy in Falaise de Fleur and he told me a bit about the Black Pearl, but IIRC he´s also supposed to give me a clue how to beat her when I leave the house (starts cutscene in a tavern, I think). But all I got was the "now I need some more information about the BP" in the Quest Log. Do I get the necessary info from another person in Build 14.6?
 
Nothing has been rewritten there. As far as I know it should work as it always did. I remember no tavern cutscene afterwards. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Hm, then something strange is going on in this quest, too.

Is there a way to "force" the guy to talk to me and/or Quest Log update ( script command, entry in the console,

You don't really NEED him to tell you, do you? You can finish the whole main quest without talking to that Falaise de Fleur guy at all.
 
I've just been looking through the code and it seems that it is supposed to work like this:
- You talk to Henry Peat, the old man in the house at Falaise de Fleur
- You leave town (either via port or via the jungle)
- Gordon Carpenter will come talk to you
- You get that tavern scene

Oops. Sorry didnt know that, I thought completing this quest was mandatory to be able to land at Khao Rhei (spelling?)

I remember once finishing the game without talking to the Falaise de Fleur guy.
 
I don't think you can land there before you're supposed to. But you <i>can</i> land there when you <i>are</i> supposed to, even when not finishing the Falaise de Fleur cursed crewmember part of the story. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
okay, okay! i think i might try this. although i do like storyline-stuff. speaking of this, i think i won't type a new entry in the log today, but continue to play the game instead so i'll be able to make entries at any time when i can't/don't play the game.

I can land there without being supposed to ... that is, without having Danielle and the Researcher.

You just can't go and finish the quest and encounter the BP.
 
I never tried landing there before I was supposed to. I recall that you were not supposed to be able to until a certain point in the main quest. Then afterwards the island would be opened up and you could use it somewhat as a hideout. But I never checked if it worked that way. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
well, i'm not sure in which build version i tried, or when in the mainquest, so maybe i should check again.
 
This is how I went to get the info for my KhaelRoa map. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

In the save game I loaded, the only quest I had completed was "Arrival at Oxbay".
The "Inform the Governor of the French Attack" quest was started but not completed.
 
Just want to ask if the fix for the mephisto quest (for Build alpha 6) by fudge dragon is still somewhere on the ftp (couldn´t find it). Here´s the relevant <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10667" target="_blank">Thread</a>.
