Stuck again In Fluer..Plus, Code crash with Diplomat's

I have the PC and XBOX versions (Managed to find a way of getting through
the console version almost without crashes and bugs after applying a few
methods to a fresh game)!
However, I have a few problems with the modded PC version: V11 and V11,
update the whole game runs OK..unless I hit the Microsoft Key by accident.
I cannot complete the "Rescue Lucas" Mission, or the "`Re-unite` Virginia with Lover; allthough I made sure to start and complete the "Lucas Mission2 first..which worked a treat on the XBOX...I am getting the same stuck in Tavern with doors locked at Fleur...also the game crashes (CTD), when trying to get past "agreeing to pay the diplomat", both at Conceicao and Q/Costillas....Is there a way of changing something in a File to get over this problem? I have thought of sneaking into Redmond from a Beach to find the new Governer....If there is one! To get amnesty...If there is any???

To get amnesty...If there is any???[/quote]Yup, If you're playing with Build 11, there IS a new governor, and you definitely want to talk to him... You just can't talk to the diplomat to fix your problem with the English - so it's best to go overland from Rocky Shore on Redmond into town and you can walk right into the Townhall without anyone turning a hair...

Not sure about your being locked in the tavern on FdF problem - you may have to go back to a previous save to recover... What exactly were you doing before you got locked in the tavern?

I did `pre-empt` the situation.and sneaked into Redmond during `Half-Time`; (Arsenal, Via The Greek team last night and, as you say...
the New Governer, not only gave me amnesty..He also rewarded me for `Knocking-off` Nasty Sil!...However..I hope I can, in future, deal with the Diplomat's..I like the idea of "Removing the Microsoft Key"...Can You just lever it off or do you have to strip the Keyboard down?
Re: Fluer Tavern....I scrolled down the Quest book as the "Lucas Mission", had gone, to discover that he had been `Knocked-off`!!! Presumebly...because the tavern sequence stopped running....I think I will just let that one go for now, although it means that I cannot use the "Fluer Tavern"...Strange that the fualt occurs on both the XBOX and PC!!...But I did manage to complete on the XBOX by completing the "Lucas Mission" before getting involved with the "White Slaver"..

Our Build 12 will be released very soon, so there will be more fun to be had by all who play PotC - new ships, new characters and quests, and new places to explore and utilize! All is good!!!

Believe me...If I bugger up my Keyboard it will be totaly My own fault....I suppose you could drill a small hole in the side of the Key and insert a tiny- self tapper -.

Ages ago, Microsoft released a little powertoy to disable those keys, I believe.
Dunno if it still works with the NT (and 2k/XP) core though.

Umm, maybe they called it kerneltoy. Can't recall.
(There was this neat thing about how the kernel team got jealous that the UI team released these toys, so they had to release their own...)
 
Thanks again Nathan...Thats very interesting! Looks like Others have had problems with those Keys as well!!
At the moment I have levered off the Keys as kindly suggested by Catalina..Quite easy to do and they can be replaced at any time.
