Stuck in Mines

Rainer0123

Landlubber
Hello,

I stuck in the main quest. My last save game is just befor I talk to the slave.

If I talk to him and agree with him to free him, the officer will not speak to me.

If I talk to the slave and get the info, that Danielle is in Isla Muelle, I cannot get into Oxbay. The gate is closed - locked door symbol at the entrance. My ship is in Oxbay port, so I cannot leave.

I have no older savegame, so I cannot go back. What can I do ?
Thanks for any idea !

Rainer

Did you talk to the Officer before you went to talk to the slave, Leborio Drago in your save game?

If you didn't, try talking to the officer first and then see whether that sets you back on course.

If it doesn't work, try hitting the "I" key, (are you playing Build 11?) and try the oficer again.

Let us know if you're still stuck after this. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Just to make things clear ... the officer that you should speak with in the house at the left when you are passing the wooden wall just before you enter the mines . Secondlly , you don't have to free the slave just get the information and sail away to IsleMulle . By the way .. when I did this part of the main quest I didn't moor at oxbay port , I moored at the lighthouse beach and from there I went to the mine .

Hello,

I talked to the Officer in the mines and he talked to the governor. After a few moments the Officer came back and said that I am free to leave. Then I talked to Drago, which wanted me to free him. Now I am at the point I saved last. The Officer is inside of his house, the left one behind the wooden wall/gate. If you leave the mines it is the house in the right edge.

Hitting the "I" key to reinitialize did not work (yes, Build 11 :) )

Tried it before leaving the mines, tried it after leaving the mines, in the house of the governor and a lot of other combinations... it will not work...
The governor will not speak and I can't enter the city.

Maybe I have to start over and the I will sail directly to the lighthouse...

Thanks for your help. I will store my savegame I one of you have another idea...

Bye, Rainer.

Sorry Rainer but am comfused ?? What do you mean by ( talked to the governor and he told me you are free to leave ?? The quest goes this way : After helping the church to get back the stolen document you get the permission to enter the lirary then your quest book updated . Then off you go to the mines . Land at the light house beach and walk to the mines . Pass through the wooden gate and turn to the left and enter the house to speak with officer then go inside the mines to speak with slave . Inside the mines you speak just only with slave nobody else ( don't accept to free him and he will tell everything because first time I went there I freed him up and had a brloblem later in IsleMulle ) . You will get the information you need and you know the Danielle is been here before and she has gone IsleMulle so to IsleMulle you go and the quest continue .....

I did this once myself, an i'm afraid there is no way out o' this one mate! load a previous save game an moor at the lighthouse, cos oxbay will become `off-limits` after talkin'to the slave, an updatin' yer questbook.

Sorry, mate <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" />

Just had the same problem in my Build 12 version. The quest log just says to go to the Oxbay Mines and look for the clay tablets so I moored up at Greenford and walked there via Oxbay Canyon. With the limited info. given to you by the log you naturally enter the mine first and start talking to everyone in there and this is what causes the bug. The player should really be directed to the lighthouse mooring as Greenford shuts down after you talk to the slave in the mine and you cannot get back to your ship via the town. Also it should be made clear that you need to contact the officer in the mine office before entering the mine otherwise the quest will be bugged by not doing this first. I had all sorts of weirdness happening with a bunch of guys jumping me in the mine office and killing the captain before I could talk to him. Also had my officers accidentally killing English soldiers as well as the pirates outside the mine fort so that when I entered the mine `no-one` would talk to me and the game could not progress.

After finding this thread I went back to my save at Greenford port and used the quickmove icon to moor up at the lighthouse instead, left my officers on the ship, then talked to the mine captain in his office first, then entered the mine and talked to the slave (but did not rescue him) and this seems to have worked out OK.

Sounds like this solution should be worked into a bugfix for B12, thanks, Rummy! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
