the magic compass

the compass on the lugger VML points in the direction of the wind, not north. can this be changed? i think it was discussed before, but i couldn't find it.

i knew this title was going to give certain reactions. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> but couldn't it be adjusted that it really points north? or you could do something that would be very diffucult to manage: let it point to the direction you have to go for the main quest! it would be a magic compass then, and usefull. but i think you would need one to figure out what to do to program it into the game. it would also be much to much work for just a silly compass. let's just stick to letting it point north ok?

I don't know how they actually made that compass, but I can imagine they set the compass to BE a sail. I don't think making it point North is possible. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Except I have no idea where on the <i>Pearl</i> the compass is (graduate of Yoda grammar school, I am <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ). Or even if there <b>is</b> any compass there.

YES I NOTICED BY NOW!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> or so to speak: yes, we know that one, anything else? if the compass can't be made to point north, it would still be nice to have it on other ships. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> i did notice that the compass is heavily vibrating, not like the sails at all.

I just used this ship while testing Counch Captain Charles direct sail mod, and a compass that point North IS really more usefull than one that's pointing the wind direction, in this perticular case !

By the way, this ship is really a true beauty...
