Treasure maps broken? (Possible Spoilers)

BadMrFrosty

Anyone else had a problem with treasure maps showing the wrong information?

For example, I have this map:
<img src="http://superted.serveftp.com/2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The but the coastline arround the landmark "Captains Reef" looks nothing like the map:

Any I just mental or is something wrong here?

You sure it's the correct Captain's Reef? Are you south east of Villa Hermosa? And I don't mean 200 nautical miles to the south east.

EDIT: if it's the correct Captain's Reef, it should say so on the world map (where you sail). If not, then it's not the right one.

Cheers for the reply but as all of the landmarks are unique that is the correct 1.

I have found the city now and the treasure map was actually wrong. Thankfully this was the only one that was iffy!

I hope I don't encounter one of those. Maybe I already have though, it took me forever to find my sister. And I happened to stumble upon a slightly valuable treasure, one of the lost cities. Gave me 50.000 gold. So the hour I spent looking was kinda worth it.

The only bug in maps that i've seen in my game are that some times it is writen South of What_ever but in reallity the thing is North of What_ever.

Hope there's a patch soon!

I totally am experiencing a similar glitch. I supposedly have a full map to a lost city, which is supposedly south of Campeche and near Captain's Stone (which is on the eastern side of the peninsula), but when I go looking on land, the landmarks are kind of wrong and there's no lost city... And I've already found all my relatives, all the pirate treasures, and Marquis Montalban's hideout, so it isn't like I'm green to the land hunting. Grrrr... How did you end up finding yours? Was it anywhere nearby? I've spent way too much time marching around that dang peninsula... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

In my case I sailed due west of the landmark and set ashore. Luckily the landmarks matched with the map and I was able to find the city.

Landmarks are NOT unique. I've found three lookout rocks, two governor's rocks, three blade rocks, etc...

Can someone help with my Inca map? It says southeast of Campecha. On the map are only the X, a geyser and an inca temple, but nor border, city or anything else... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />
Perhaps someone has the same map?

Capt None, that's the same dang map I got and can't find for diddly poo! I've spent way too much time searching for it--about ready to hang up my claw and hat...

Well, think of it this way, there were accurate maps, and then there were INaccurate maps... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Ok, now I'm searching the hole continet.... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
What are the lost cities like? Just in case, I've to dig for them and just been running over them....

I'm experiencing a different glitch with maps... the buried treasure ones anyway. So far, in two games, ALL of the buried treasures have been in the same general area. In my first game they were all in the little `cove-like` area east of Cumana and Margarita. In my present game, they've all been between Rio del la Hacha and Santa Marta.

My maps have been slightly different each time... some say "West of Rio de la Hacha" while others say "East of Santa Marta", but the general area is still the same.

Family members have been nicely spread out, but it seems like all the pirates got together and had a burying party in the same place. A glitch? Or just a very odd coincidence?
