Very big problem!!Please help!

I start the game with engine exe and that loading screen appears.It runs then game and then suddenly crashes to the desktop.I have installed the patch(nk build 10.1 i think) and the omega drivers.
My specs are as following:-amd athlon 1,2 ghz
-ati radeon 9000 64mb(omega drivers installed)
-sound blaster 4.1
-windows xp

At what point does the game crash to desktop, during the loading, or afterwards? Are you able to get into the game at all? Are you loading an old saved game, or starting a new game?

If you have build 10.1 installed (instead of the newest, 11.0), you WILL have to start a NEW game instead of using an old saved game...

If you have build 11.0 installed, there should be an error log generated after a crash to desktop - look in the PotC directory - it will be called "error.log" - if you open that as a text file, you can copy and paste whatever it says here and hopefully we can track down the problem for you.

If said log is not generated, open engine.ini and set tracefilesoff to 0. Then restart POTC and post the log.

No,no,no.I don`t even get to the menu.I mean the engine thingy runs and shows it` progress then the game starts.I can only see the screen for `1-2` seconds and then it crashes to the desktop.why did i say it crashes after it loads?Because in the `1-2` seconds i can see a skull and load progress bar.But wen it gets full i just exit to the desktop.
And i had this problem even without the build.Other forums have told me to install the omegadrivers for radeon 9000.
I have searched for the error.log but i haven`t found it.I will search more.
I remember having a simmilar probem with hitman contracts and i partially solved it changing from direct3d to opengl.How do i do that to PoTC.
I do not know what else i should do.
I think i`ll try to find the error.log.

If you're not finding the error.log in the PotC directory (it's in that folder, not in any of the folders inside that folder), then do what Nathan suggests, open engine.ini (it is also in the PotC directory) and set tracefilesoff to 0 - Restart, and THEN you will get an error.log that you can post.
