What graphics-program do you use to open the Sail-graphic files?

Hello everybody!

Can somebody tell me with what program you can open the ....tga.tx files? I wanted to create my own sails, but I can't open the files. I tried "iPhoto Plus", "Paint Shop Pro 10", and several smaller Graphics editors.
They all aren't able to open the files.

You can convert the .tga.tx files to .tga using the <a href="http://legend.seaward.ru/tools/ConvertorTX.rar" target="_blank">TX Convertor</a>. Then you can open the .tga file with, for example, Paint Shop Pro. Once you're done editing, you can use the same program to convert the files back to .tga.tx. To edit .tga.tx files I use TX Converter + GIMP.

GIMP can modify .tga files. To get your textures work in the game, you must save .tga file in graphic program without any compression and then compress it.

TX Converter is a tool for compressing/decompressing graphics files. Compressed files in that format are used by potc. I don't remember now where I got it, but Pieter's post above has it.

Ok, I will see how it will look. It's just not very realistic, since Che Guevara came a few hundred years later. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
But I think it's the right "decoration" for Pirate sails. If it will work, I'll send them to you.

Actually, it almost <i>is</i> as simple as dumping them in a folder. You should add them to the folder RESOURCE\Textures\Ships with a filename similar to the other sails (sail_whole_white_pirate15.tga.tx). Then you should increase the sail values in BuildSettings.h. Then your added sails will show up in the sail selection screen under pirate sails. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I just discover something intresting, the converter flips the image 180 degrees. however I just fliped the image upside down before I saved it and let the converter flip it back <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
