What is your Favorite European Country During...

Yes folks, it's that thread again. What is your Favorite European Countruy During the Time Period of 1650 to 1750, The Golden Age of Piracy?
Here are the rules on the countries:
-This time, the poll is a never ending poll.
-ITALY IS NOT IN HERE, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A UNITED COUNTRY.
-The country had to exist between 1650 and 1750
-It had to be a European Country
-It had to have a major navy.

So, start voting.
Also, Holland IS the same as the Netherlands. They are not separate.

Let me start. I pick England. I am part English, and they have some excellent gunners and ships. They also have the most powerful Navy in the world during the Age of Sail.

I suppose it's because it's the most familiar to me - although I have been looking into Spanish history during that time period lately...

As a fan of Sir Francis Drake and his lot, I choose England. I really appreciated the way he and a few English warships sank the entire Spanish Armada.
