After much discussion on fixing the gun damage and reload times, Hook came up with both a reload computation model and a mod that makes sail damage affect turn rate. I tried to modify the damage numbers for gunfire, but I was waiting on these other changes before I could do anything final.

Question: How many of these changes are in the newest version? How many are expected for the next release? Did I miss something?
 
None of Hook's latest changes are in the latest version. I am waiting with adding these until Build 13 is done. I want to release Build 13 very soon, this week preferrably, and once that is done we can start working on what will eventually be Build 14. But I don't want to add anything in at the moment that might introduce new bugs or gameplay issues. Pieter, does that mean you are not fix the use of firearms by crew during boarding? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
I haven't got the slightest idea. The major problem I'm having is that I can hardly decide on my own what code will go in and what should wait. It's enough to drive anyone NUTS! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
 
Everything I sent to Pieter was marked whether it should be in the current build or the next one. The weapons locker bug fix was one that should go in the current build.

So reload, sail damage, and general damage models are on hold until otherwise notified ... check.

Hook: Whenever you get a reload model that works, send me a copy. (Presumably after the build 13 release, to make sure they work together.) The sooner I have everything, the sooner I can start playing with damage models to try to come up with something vaguely historical.

Can you please check if the Quick-Equip key works properly with that fix in place? I have recently noticed the Quick-Equip key doesn't work properly for guns anymore. I suspect that fix might have something to do with it, becuase that's the only code that was changed that specifically has something to do with guns... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
It's working for me. I unequipped the grapeshot pistol I had, pressed 2 and got grenades. I put the grenades in a chest, hit 2 and equipped a scrapper pistol. Put the scrapper pistol in the chest, got a grapeshot pistol next time. Seems to be working fine.

I didn't mean the [2] key. I mean the [F] key. That button is meant to equip a blade, a gun, a spyglass and armor, if you have it. Start the tutorial, get all your items, then press [F] to equip everything at once. It didn't work properly for guns last time I tried. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Yup. I started a new game, picked up my items but did not equip them. "F" key worked fine to equip sabre, short pistol and spyglass. It said I didn't have any armor to equip. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I checked my inventory to make sure the stuff was equipped.

Edit: in case it matters, I do not use the weapons quality mod.
