Where Do I Post Errors Like This ?

I went to Turk or Turks and when I went ashore my Mate was there and walked up to me and this happened . Build 14a7+fix, I could move about but the interface would not go away. I tried to talk to someone else to see if that would help all that happened was my Mate pic disappeared from the interface and the interface was blank well except for the words Invalid text where the questions should have been.

I have it saved at my last port so I will try other ports to see if the same thing happens, so far its been ok with Oxbay and a couple of others but I will check it out.

This seems to be a dialog error. I had that when trying a saved game from a Spanish version of POTC and I had to copy all dialog files from the English Directory to the Spanish directory. Maybe the dialog file, which should be used in this encounter, is not available. Maybe it is only in the wrong (sub-)folder.

The text in the game has always been English, but it would seem there is a missing file or something. How would I go about sorting it or what should I be looking for as in txt file and where?

In the program\dialogs folder look for the .c files - they define the dialog structure. For each .c file you must have a corresponding .h file in the "English", "German", "French" ... subfolder, depending on your game's language (usually English). If you find a .c file without a matching .h file, voila - this is the missing one.

I have had that dialog issue as well. Normally I save, exit the game, restart the game, and load my save and the interface is gone and everything is back to normal. It really was kinda scary the first time though, since I had been altering a few files on my own, just to see what strange things I could do with the engine, and I thought I might have to do a reinstall. I hate reinstalling POTC.
