Think of yourself as a bit of a rouge artist? As handy with a paintbrush as you are with a sabre?

Well Pirates Ahoy latest competition is the very thing for you. Pirates Ahoy! is looking for a new logo and we want other people to do it for us! What we can offer from our very shallow booty chest is a new copy of Age of Pirates! given to us by those scurvy lads at Playlogic to celebrate the release of Akella's Age of Pirates.

For this competition we need to set a few ground rules.

<b>1) </b>Images need to be of at least 2000x2000 pixels. (yes big)
<b>2)</b> They are to be submitted in preferably a layered .pdf file or some other layered file that a windows machine can open up.
<b>3)</b> By entering a submission you acknowledge Pirates Ahoy! free use of the image for promotional and design purposes.
<b>4)</b> Logo's must be original work, any use of copyright material will void the entry.
<b>5)</b> The logo *should* follow the colour scheme of our forum, which you can visit HERE

Most of these rules should go without saying, we are not trying to get all serious but there should be no mistaken intentions.

I'm a semi retired pen and ink artist and a decent oil painter ,but not sure how to go about putting something like that on comp. could I just paint it and photo it with a good camera and let someone else do the rest? I'm no realy concerned about the prize as it would cost about what the game is worth for decent canvas and paint,but would like a small credit if I were to win. It's been years since any outside of freinds and family have seen my works ,but I did get my 15 minutes of fame in a gallery in Colorado once.

After many hours of work my logo is done now. - I just need to scan it and polish it up.
But I'm pretty sure, that it will not win. Because it does not match the style (it's just some kind of a funny - i hope - comic) or even the colour scheme of the forum.
That's why I have a question. Do you guys show some, or even all, logos (and mine too) you've got, or only the winner?

We'd prefer it in a layered format so it can be utilized easier. pdf,png,psd. - Basically something that also has a transparent background so we don't lose any of the image having to clip it out.

I have a jpg 47.8kb small - its not for wining the comp, but its kinda cool - sepecaily as i knocked it up in photoshop just now in about 5mins. I dont know what to do with it now........its a green skull with the letters P A etched into the skulls forhead <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I could email it to william - but well its not exactly for the comp(its too small for starters)?

oh what the hell i might as well put it here after all the fuss - i will admit i 'stole' the base pic from the gallery here on PA, then used paint bucket in photoshop to turn what was white into green, then scrawled "P A" on the forehead by hand - its a version of a real pirate flag, as opposed to an real logo. but a fun few mins work - please feel free to laugh <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
