J Sparrow Sri Sumbhajee Sidequest Havana Bug

At Havana when you try to leave the port the only option available on fast travel is the Fort.

Also when you walk up to the port gates to go into the town the gates are locked ( closed padlock top left of screen).

Only way into town is quickly in and out of fort. :wp

Going from town to Port works ok.

Also I have just managed to complete the quest without talking to the ill soldier behind the church ( was not there ) or the prison governor - which I think might be wrong. :? But the quest book updated and closed ok - except not all the entries were there.
 
I don't think that is to do with the Sumbhajee sidequest but I could be wrong :?

Can anyone confirm?
 
Having to go through the Fort takes you directly to the section of town with the tavern in it.
So you don't have to pass through the section with the church, and don't find ill Spanish soldier.

Played the quest again and got the soldier the appear this time - completed the quest and quest book closed. :)

However, I did not meet Prison Commandant and quest book texts 2, 4 & 5 did not appear. :?
 
Make sure you meet the soldier before talking to Sumbhajee

Then Jack gives you the hint what to do (stay away from the port until you meet the prison guy ;) )

Meet the Soldier - then went and talked to Sumbhajee. Remembered where Prison was and went there :onya ( it does not appear on fast travel menu ).

Tried to talk to Commandant, dialogue said;

" can't load file [Spanish Prison_dialog.c] assigned to me"

So I just left prison went to port and completed quest. (Think I should have had a fight with prison Guards, nothing happened. And Quest book texts didn't appear.)

'Picked up' my special pistol from table by Sumbhajee - now have 2 of them. :2guns
Got the other from looting a corpse

to see if there indeed isn't a "Spanish Prison_dialog.c" file.
There should be. There's no fight involved in the prison; just some dialog.

Indeed the Sparrow-pistols can apparently be found at random.
I even looted one off a random soldier at level 1.
Still has to be fixed one day. Hope we'll manage, but it seems ridiculously hard. :modding

"Spanish Prison_dialog.c" file is there. :shrug

I think the prison Commandant is supposed to turn up on the jetty with soldiers and fight me. :ixi According to the quest book
 
That's indeed supposed to happen. Have you ever been able to trigger that yet?
I tested the quest when Captain Maggee had just finished it and it worked as intended then... :?

Unable to trigger fight on jetty. :sad Tried several times

Go to Havana Prison - get dialog error same as before - go to port. On entering Port talk to self - dialog says "Go to prison ship". Transported directly to deck of Prison ship. Fight with Ship officer. Then complete the quest to end.

In that case enable error logging and post your logs. ;)

It worked for me when I did the quest and then I sent it to Pieter for the Build and to test and he also got the desired result :facepalm
 
Change the file name Spainish Prison_dialog.h in PROGRAM/Storyline/LegendJackSparrow/dialogs/ENGLISH

to Spanish Prison_dialog.h and try that ;)

Fixed & Works :onya

Get to talk to Prison Commandant - different dialog on Prison Ship deck & get to fight Prison Commandant on Jetty.

Quest completes and all Quest book entries appear. :)

Small thing: When talking to Askay, he says that Askay has been kidnapped, should be Pusasn

I have just played this side quest again and the Havana Port Gate works OK. :?

I think is must be caused by when you play the quest. :shrug

The 1st time I played it was straight after meeting Davy Jones, before going to see Barbossa.

I have just played it again - this time after completing CotBP.
 
Patch 3 is completed and uploading now. Will be done in a couple of hours. Stand by. :doff
