Need Help Trying to play on Windows 11 without mods.

Hi Folks,

I've used New Horizons and can get the game to play like that but I was really hoping to play a completely vanilla game without mods so it felt exactly as it used to when I was little.

I'm running on Windows 11, can install no issues (have tried to C Drive and a separate internal hard drive), when I click the launcher/exe, nothing at all happens. I have gone into properties and tried all combinations of the various compatibility settings. Can anyone advise?

Alternatively have the makers of the New Horizons mod made something which purely allows the vanilla game to run on Windows 11 without the extra modded bits?

Thanks.

I suspect the Copy Protection from the original game is causing the problem.
Try swapping out ONLY ENGINE.exe with the one from Build 14 New Horizons.

Hey guys

I have the same problem, tried already a couple of steps to try fix it:
- Compatibility mode, Admin mode everything, does not work.
- Resolution is according to my screen
- Took the ENGINE.exe from the Build 14, replaced it, but still can't start a new game.

The game starts, to the Main screen, but when I want to start a new game, it crashes to desktop...

Here are my logs, maybe it helps

UPDATE:
I could fic it, it seems that there is a corrupt file: In the folder "MODULES", there is the file "sea.dll"
Just get the correct file from this website (Pirates of the Caribbean (Windows)):
Scroll down to the downloads, the "fix sea.dll", just replace it and now it works for me.
