A start for the "Master and Commander" storyline

That seems to be funny  And yes, im a complete novice. I started to change some things in the PROGRAN folders, to make my character to start with a specific ship and start with more money and skills, but then i started to search for guidance in the net and discovered the Pirates Ahoy...

A start for the "Master and Commander" storyline

When do start and end the Revolutions period? All that i know is that the storyline will happen in the Napoleon Era, from April, 18th 1800 ahead. I dont know if the US is at war or just neutral with England, but i know that in the future (Far Side of the World, i guess) Jack Aubrey haunt an...

    The rest of the world!

Imagine it to be a little vacation for the people that worked in the POTC Build Mods. They might stop, but it doesnt mean they wont start working on it again in the future. Until there, i will be buying a new PC so i can play this game without problem with the lag and all. Also, i will have...

    The rest of the world!

By the way, Mr. Boelen... We dont have the source code already? When will we have it?

    The rest of the world!

I like the idea of having a whole world too, of course, but, at the moment, im sure we wont be able to enlarge our horizons that much. Lets start with small things. My idea of making a map of the whole Europe and Mediterran in a separated square is already an exageration of mine. At maximum, we...

    The rest of the world!

We can make Europe and South Asia in separate areas, so, if you travel to the east, out of the Caribbean limits, you will be quickly teleported to another square, another map (Europe, including the Mediterran). If you go to south, you will reach South Asia. We wouldnt have to make the whole...

A start for the "Master and Commander" storyline

I found the Sophie in the Shipyard, finally. It is called "Brig", but it would be better to rewrite to Brig-rigged Sloop", i guess  Today i finally finished reading the first book of the Aubrey-Maturin's series. I could already imagine my player standing in a captain's cabin of a Man'o...

A start for the "Master and Commander" storyline

In the shipyard it appears as Schooner, right? Just to be sure :shrug

    a few ideas

Well, if it isnt possible to make the first option, then just having extra cannons in the cargo hold to replace the guns on deck is enough.

    Secret Agent Officers?

Well, it would have to be calculated the amount of loyalty of your officer. If the officer is a bad guy and is new in the crew, he wont be loyal to the captain and will tell who sent him in case of failure. If the officer is a good guy (matey, dashing, etc) and is in the crew a long time...

    Dutchman

Indeed, but the advantage is very higher in the movie. Well, it is only a matter of loyalty to the original Flying Dutchman in the movies, not necessarily an important thing.

Buying new sails / sleeping in captains cabin

Hmmm....it means that it would be necessary an officer to wake you up in case of an event happening, like an attack or an aproximation to an island. If you dont have officers, you will wake up with a lot of pirates inside your cabin ready to kill you or inside a lifeboat. Exciting.

Buying new sails / sleeping in captains cabin

One of the things i want the most is to have some sleep in my cabin, while waiting my ship to reach its destination or at least to advance a good distance. Then our sleep would be interrupted if there is a "sail ho!" or a "land ho!", so our health is only half recovered or not recovered at all...

    a few ideas

Having different guns in the ship is indeed an awesome idea, specially if you can have some of those rotate guns (they are weak, but they can fire at more directions).

    Promotion Party

I hear I'm up for promotion? If the subject is PROMOTION, im readily aproving it :onya2

    Dutchman

It would be awesome to get the sound of the triple guns and make it work only in the Flying Dutchman triple guns. It is not necessary to make the guns turn, just get the sound and let the Dutchman to reload the triple guns almost instantly (if it havent been done already).

    Secret Agent Officers?

Indeed, very ambitious...but i like it :onya2 *Starting to count the necessary money to bribe some seadogs* ...i like your ideas :doff

    Secret Agent Officers?

Dont forget the possibility to board a ship from the shore/port, like Jack Sparrow did in the Curse of the Black Pearl, but, of course, you would board the ship with your crew, not alone :ixi

A start for the "Master and Commander" storyline

Yeah, i imagined that the first book isnt hard to be adapted into the game. We can make quests like: - Hunting spanish and french ships in specific islands (similar to the ship hunting quests that we get from the governors). - Start cruisers and return with a certain number of prizes and/or a...

A start for the "Master and Commander" storyline

"At the moment there is indeed no M&C story at all. However, there IS a Stephen Maturin look-a-like in the Bridgetown apothecary." For a moment i was amused that i found him there, althought the name is not Stephen Maturin, but is very similar, just as his speech style. Very tricky :wink...
