A few new "items" at the Tailor Shop

Although I don't think there's anything that will cause the game to crash, backups are probably a good idea! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

What program are you using to access the FTP? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Maybe if you are using an automatic insert of the username and password, it needs to be edited because it got corrupted or inadvertently changed?

The address is still the same - <span style='color:red'>ftp.piratesahoy.net</span> - hasn't changed...

Make sure your program is not set to sign you in as "anonymous" because that might give you an error.

Also, your program needs to be in the "passive" mode. That also could give you some troubles.

Hope this helps! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Hmmm, Ive just been using IE to get on. The whole things been off and on with me. Sometimes I get in, no problem, sometimes I dont. Right now it keeps logging in as anonymous, even when I go to log on and type in all the info... I will continue to work on this...issue. Thanks Cat!

<Edit> Got it working. Dont know how... Thanks!

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> Great, I am glad you finally did get it working! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Thats odd...It just...works...I cant explain it. Oh well. Thanks for your help anyways everyone!

While we're *snicker* playing with Danielle's skin, here's another:

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/alan_smithee/Newdan.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

And I mentioned elsewhere I made a nun:

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/alan_smithee/Nun.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I can't get her face less pale, though. Tweaking the colours or simply darkening it gets an even more unnatural complexion...

Hey, nice job, Alan!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

While waiting to be assigned a modders code number, I would like to offer
my services to the community by producing the portraits for some of the
female characters we find and can hire as officers.

I knowsomeone was asking about this some time ago and as I see these
portraits have yet to be produced, I volunteer!

That is if no one else is working on them.

A question.
The portraits would have to be given an ID number and added to the
facemaker.c file right?

Would the models, which are already in the game, like towngirl1_1, Liza, and towngirl4, have to be added to the tailor's mod?

I'll start working on the POTCresourcetexturesinterfacesportraites
part of it now.

<b>Petros: </b>Yes, you need a number for the portraits in facemaker.c and then you can make the portraits.

Do you WANT to put towngirls into the tailor shops as skins you can buy for yourself or for officers? Looking to have an `all-girl` ship? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

One thing that is going to be a problem is if your main character is playing as Danielle or any of the other women - they DO NOT sit down. If there is a quest where you need to sit at a table, you're going to have a bit of trouble with it. This will also be a problem when you get shipwrecked and meet your officers again and sit at the tavern for a bit to have a couple of drinks and trade stories.

The skins I managed to find were all really great. But where to find the black Danielle? I tried it in Falaise de Fleurs, but to no avail. I tried finding the Isla Muelle tailor, but couldn't. Any help would be welcome. I want that girl!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

<span style='color:red'>Edit:</span> forum, I found the Isla Muelle tailor, and more importantly, my new officer and girlfriend. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Thanks to SirChristopherMings. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

BTW: Don't this `add-on` and the JMV skinpacks conflict with each other? If so: Can that be fixed?

Since 11.99 I have always had all girl officers, except my character who is mostly Graybeard.

I hire them in the street and they obviously come with their own skins
and proper female animation but no portraits.

If I could put up the portraits without getting them into the tailors shop
that would be fine by me. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Last time I played to that point in 11.99 my girls just stood at attention while I sat and had me fill <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/beer2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":beer" border="0" alt="beer2.gif" />
... as was good and proper! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Okay, if you don't mind that, and you don't want to add the girls to the tailor, you can do the portrait thing by assigning them a portrait number in Facemaker - and then putting the `properly-sized` portraits in their respective folders - you should have no trouble with that.

See the procedure detailled here:

Just scroll down to the section on portraits, and that will guide you through it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Both the JMV skinpack and this `add-on` have a initModels.c file, so if I install both, one of them probably won't work, right? Any chance of anyone fixing this? I'd like to be able to use them both.
BTW: Great work on these new skins. Looking veeery good! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

I seem to have managed to fix the conflict after modifying some files. I still need to test it though. If anyone is interested in the fixed files, I'll put them somewhere for you to download once I tested and found it actually does work properly. (which, truth be told, is not very likely, since my knowledge of coding is rather small indeed <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> )

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> Sorry Pieter, I made this mod to fit into B12, and eventually will put them into the updater - just testing right now - All that really needs to be done is rename some files so they correspond to the facemaker numbers. I did not consider the JMV skins because they are extra...

I think NathanKell was thinking about changing that facemaker utility so we don't overwrite our own mods...

I'll try to take some time today to see what I can do about fixing my skins so the JMV skins will fit with them - I'll be back later! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<!--QuoteBegin-NathanKell+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NathanKell)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Yep, trying to swap faces to using IDs rather than indices.
I looked at one point and yes it does look possible.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Hi all <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />
I'm back and to fulfill my promise to do some female portraits I've started with towngirl7.
Now is there any one coordinating with how Facemaker numbers will be assigned or will
that be dropped for some other process?

How should I name these files and where should I upload them?
Are we still using the FTP?
