A good question brought up

Fellow Shipmates, I have just replied to a question about the Indians and other Pirates, and after replying checked out the manual and cannot find anything on this topic.

I just think it was a good question, what actual influence does the Indains and other Pirates have on the game (apart from the obvious) and does anyone know (or figured out) what they can/cannot do for us? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

I mean it is an excellent question and deserves a good answer, if my limited eyesight has missed it in the manual be kind enough to give me a page number?

I think the Pirate havens are more useful then the Indian Villages. But they are essentially your only "allies".

As an impressive Pirate to both the indians and pirates you are a powerful and impressive person in the world of the Caribe. Now when you say the obvious I dont know if this includes the following or not.

Say you want to attack a heavily guarded town but you can't really get your crew up to the numbers needed to make a decent and realistic assault. You find the nearest Indian Village and ask them to attack hence reducing the amount of troops you will then face.
Same occurs with the Pirates, only you have to be careful they don't succeed and steal all your plunder first <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Personally If i was sailing down to a large wealthy city, I would stop off at the local Pirates, pick up some crew if needed (you will always have a healthy amount want to join you from these ports) and ask them to attack any of the largely guarded cities I may want to sack. Then when I pass the city, I check to see if their troops are pretty low, and if So sack them and have a glass of rum on those lost pirates <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Another small reason for having them is... If you were to attack every nation and attempt to play the game without a single ally nationally, those two smaller powers would be your only source of aid and help <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> Not sure if that helps at all <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
