A Sloop that is light an heavy

Im working on my first new ship for PoTC an its shaping up pretty nicley
its sort of a fictional ship

I found that the hull of the Lugger in game is increadibly similar to a sloops hull. i found it easy to slightly resculpt her to match an actual sloops hull. while this is a fictional ship i did base the hull on the draughts of the HMS Speedy a Brig rigged sloop. thats where the similarities end, this is going to actually be a sloop, and she has less guns than the real HMS Speedy

The speedy's armament was 14 4 pounder long guns and 12 swivel guns.

My sloops armament consists of: 10-12 12-pounder long guns(might downsize to 6 pounders, not shure yet)

While the model is shaping up nicley im afraid i have absolutley zero skills in this field, so i was wondering if anyone could make a texture for it based on this pic?

She looks nice! I'm sure that, if you can add a texture map to the hull, somebody can skin her. I can't personally, but there are several people skinning ships around here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Looking forward to sailing her. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
BTW: What program are you using?

once i got hte model finished i just need to figure out how to set up rigging and masts

Here's a texture map, the blue area is below the water line

nice work i look fore to sail aswell best best luck in you work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
with my bermuda sloops look like we be have many new sloops to choose from. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
how many meters long she is? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />

well fairly simple, basically its a manipulated lugger rescaled and adapted to fit a draught of a real ship. as i said, the lugger in PoTC has hull lines that are increadibly similar to some sloop's

Augast, to be honest im not quite shure on how many meters lol, but blaze is there in the pic so he might give you an estimate as to its size.

Heres her hull overlaying the draught in milkshape
<img src="http://www.hibiscus-sinensis.com/alexraptor/sloop2.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

And heres a slightly newer pic, more detail on her now

I a few competences in skinning as many of you saw, and i would be glad to help but i'll be too busy those days to make a skin, but i would be the occasion to learn a new thing that i don't know how to do, create an all new texture, i can actually do retexturing, but i don't know how to create an all new texture for an all new model at the good size, with details à the right place <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

She looks great! Another fine addition. Any idea on how you're going to do her masts and rigging?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

not a clue :p, ill deal with that once she's finished and textured <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

As long as she's rigged better than the stock PotC sloop, I think we'll all be happy <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Am i boring you ppl with pics yet? lol

shes almost just about done, a few small details here and there, and her main hull textured and shes ready to start her journey into PoTC <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> As you can see her internal detail is done, deck, anchors(i hope inzane and whoever made the VML lugger dosent mind i borrowed a few texture pieces)

<img src="http://www.hibiscus-sinensis.com/alexraptor/sloop6.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Time flies when your not replying lol, after a few more hours work i actually managed to create a hull texture <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
I actually took and used and repainted part of the Fleut texture.

<img src="http://www.hibiscus-sinensis.com/alexraptor/sloop7.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

WOW! That looks awesome! I really like the colour of that hull. Good job! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Another new vessel. Excellent.

Mighty fine work there, MM. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her in-game.

Cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
