Adding new nation

CapitainDams

Pirate Spirit Crew's Captain
Can some have success to adding nation to the game?

I would like to add "Buccaneers" but my coding knowledge is not very good.
If anyone could help me, thanks.

yeh, a bit later when i've got more time i'll go through and show you what you need to do.

why are you adding them as a whole new nation, by the way? why not just add them as a special subset of 'pirates'?

I think it would be entertaining to have different groups of pirates that didn't like eachother. That would be cool.

Aye, there were different strains of pirates... I picture a more respectable lot of Privateers, better dressed and relatively well behaved, and then a bloodthirsty filthy bunch of Buccaneers. One could inhabit QC and the other the Douwesen pirate fort. Each leader could give you a sort of letter of marque to hunt down ships of the other.

Oh, and the Privateer lot would have better relations with the other nations, though allegience would change with the breeze...

All I can say to this idea is...: YARRRR <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p:" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" /> Veeeery interesting!

But if you have Buccaneers and Privateers whom have a disposition towards eachother, doesn't that require them to be two seperate nations? I can't see how else you'd deal with their relations...

Privateers generally work for a nation as they would have a letter of marque. I can't see them being "organized" (so to speak) together as some would work against other privateers - like an English privateer hunting an enemy Spanish ship, who might be a Spanish privateer hunting an enemy English ship).

Wasn't there a historical "Brethren" agreement amongst pirates in the "golden age"?
