I don't know if this already exist, but if it dosent, I'm hereby requesting this for the next Build!
If it dose - then PLZZZ pm or mail or whatever goz there really ALOT of stuff going on, on my computer... and it really annoying to have to restart each time the game minimizes...!

(just thinking - dose windows have a "Do NOT disrupt" option? could be nice...)
 
Just start in windowed mode - via config.exe - and Alt+Tab should work. Maybe you have to go to the options screen before you `Alt-Tab`.

If you are connected to a DSL or Cable internet connection, and are live online while you are playing PotC, your system might be infected with "spyware" - which creates browser popups that you did not initiate. Anything else running in the background of the game that tries to take over your desktop can cause the minimization of the game.

Get a good spyware buster program (like System Mechanic) and clean out your system, and I am guessing that this should halt the problem.

that I know... I do have `Ad-Aware`, but the little buggers install themselves just as quick as I remove em! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

But normaly it's not the `Ad-Aware` whos giving me the <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
but errors! um... i think its spyware if u get pop up sites... i think viruses do other more dangerous things...

anyway... download SpywareBlaster...

it should block all known adware/spyware. so you just need to remove it with adaware, then install spywareblaster...

i recommend you do this though..

download Spybot Search & Destroy
Install it
update it
clean
Install the spyware blaster
update it
protect your pc (block adware)

i do this and i havent had any popups in more than 3 months...

I have that happen occationally, it's not spyware, it's just my antivirus wanting to update.

More of an annoyance is that darn windows button. Onece in a while I hit that and it kills the game <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

<b>TheOsirisDK,</b> The vestiges of old spyware .dlls (long removed) may still be in your computer, that's why you get those errors.

I suggested System Mechanic - <a href="http://www.iolo.com/sm/" target="_blank">http://www.iolo.com/sm/</a> - it is not free, but it does a lot of great things to help keep your system running smoothly... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />
 
thx all, but just realized this: me missing .dll file is appearently the "Revenge" of Panda Antivirus! (gotta love those geeks over at www.kandu.dk)
It wasent uninstalled correctly... all I need to do install & uninstall the darn thing and all should be fixed! and btw, thx for the your link Catalina <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> (can I call ya Cat'? or how about Lina..? dos Cat' sound better?)

BearShare is presumably not illegal - They cover themselves legally by directing you to follow the rules regarding the uninstalling of any software you download that you do not have the license to, as soon as you've adequately evaluated it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> The illegal part would be if you ignored that directive... They're basically offering a way for people to share ANY files, and then you're on the honor system to obey the laws of your country regarding possession of these kinds of files. In other words, they're the vehicle, they're not the driver.

System Mechanic will help you get rid of that .dll that is missing by cleaning up any stray files that might be calling it... I like that you can set up regular maintenance where your system can be scanned and all sorts of nassssty bugs deleted automatically. I myself hate the idea of cheating the one who makes the games/movie/app, from a bunch of money - HOWEVER I all so hate the idea of having spent some £ 23 on a game, that turns out not to be able to live up to me expectations..!
If the game DOS live up to my expectations, then I'll gladly contribute my well earned money in the hopes of maybe a sequel or just as thanks for the product...
I DO have ONE last question though:

SFAIK that's illegal no matter what the fine print says. It probably _shouldn't_ be, especially with today's draconian return policies, but it is.
At least in the US, that is.
