annoying guards keep bugging me

ARRRRR Swashbucklers,
i'm currently playing as peter blond, finished the starting quests and allready got allmost 150k pisasters. i like the game (even though the start was REALLY hard because of missing quest descriptions), but there is one thing which is most annoying: i am in a french town right now (my reputation towards french is neutral) and everytime i pass a guard he starts talking to me (nothing serious, they say "are you bored or something", and the text is just the same as if i would have approached them, with 2 options which both close the dialogue). is there any way to pass them without getting bugged?

No is not a bug.
Is a simple speech sound for the check guards are making on you from time to time, to see if you're a spy.
To see that , try entering via moor in an enemy port, they say the same dumb thing but the thext says that they check you and you also have a chance to pass the check - you reply and they appologise ( but is very rare -I think it depends on stealth).

It's like them asking your papers - they are very zelous and do that too often , in my opinion.

Only enemy guards are supposed to do that and actually perform a check against your stealth skill. Neutral guards don't make that check and them talking to you IS a bug.
 
Maybe.
Police ask me for papers in my own country - I guess because they don't know me as citizen of that country.
Or they are just asking if everything is ok - annoying police indeed, but it's pretty close to reality - especialy when you're carying visible weapons <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> .
It's a matter of taste I think - I personaly do not consider that being a bug.
