g'day! I decided to try again this game after hearings about supermod 1.1 and updates...Three days of gaming without particulary any crash..

Ok, let me tell ya what is going on - in game - I feel quite familiar to Davy Jones from 'At world's end" who said "I am the sea!" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> But I don't know what about main story - I didn't kill the Beatrice but I simply said her that plans of Libertania are insane, aren't they? :] So, the point is - what next? Is this story over? I fell little bored... Is there something what I should do, somewhere sail and talk with somebody? I want to fight with pirate's king and defeat him, but it seems that I would have that chance... I have to conquer all colonies and that's it? I am about 13lvl, btw. So what should I do now?

I tried to find out this problem with reading old topics and walkthrough but didn't find the answer...

Well, actually I read walkthru and didn't find clear answer for my question. In the first post in walkthrough someone wrote that you have to go talk with some guy ["this guy"] - and I don't know anything about any guy. I don't have to defeat pirate king and simply conquer all colonies? Is that all?

I think so, yes. To continue with the main quest, you have to go along with the insane plan, then she'll tell you who you need to talk to next.

The quest remains open even though you've scuppered it. In fact, I completed the main quest recently and it <i>still</i> remained open in the logbook even after I'd watch what looked like an ending video.

If you want to play the main quest, I'd recommend uninstalling the game, then reinstalling from DVD and installing the official v1.50 patch, not the Supermod. This is because, when a colony is under attack, v1.50 puts a little red cross next to it on the "paper" map. Supermod doesn't. The game sometimes does odd things so that, if you go to defend one of your colonies which is under attack, you may think you've defeated the attackers but there's another one hidden somewhere. If you don't get them all before you leave the island, the attackers win and you lose the colony. So I start by saving the game just before approaching the island, defeat all the attackers I can see, then check the map. If the red cross has gone, fine; if not, I'll try to find the hidden ship, or failing that, reload the saved game and try again.

Alternatively, since the main quest is pathetic, forget it for now. Continue with the Supermod and enjoy the fact that, since there is no fixed plot directing you where to go, you're free to do pretty much as you please. Make your own destiny. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=")" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

On the other hand - "Making your own destiny" without any interesting plot isn't as interesting. It's a pity that main quest in AoP sucks hard... There are hundreds of ideas that would fit this game just great (i mean - the game gives hell of the possibilities) and these ideas just wait to be put into the game by some group of talented moders :>

Even I have got about 2 ideas for main quest (and these can be connected and mixed into one bigger ) and i think both of them would be much better than what we got in AoP (yeah, cause it's not hard )
