AOP Stuff

I got a russian version of AOP this week and i tried to convert all i could for POTC, (i tried to convert skies but despite many tries i couldn't get anything correct) anyway,

I managed to adapt a few things for POTC,

World map looks great. Be nice to have another alternative in sail selection. They look great.

Those look great, Seb! I'm trying to get my hand on a copy of AoP myself, hopefully will have one soon. Do you know if you can get any of the ships from AoP into PotC?

For the sails > they will replace the stock one, but not the custom ones, i should have learn how to put new sails <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

But after all i just upload files, so if anyone knows how to do, feel free to do it and to upload a modified version of the pack with supplementary sails instead of replacing sails
 
I've had a look at the files and they do look nice. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I ran WinMerge on the files to see which files were changed and I was quite surprised to see that your sky textures are exactly the same as they are in the stock game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

I have made a new .zip file including only the changed files. It is 20 MB smaller than the one currently on the FTP. I could upload it if you like.

Couple of comments:
- The AoP worldmap sea doesn't really line up with our islands: The light spots don't appear under the islands, but I suppose these light spots do represent the shoals near the islands.
- Could you add some different music to the new video? It sounds a bit too modern for my taste. Maybe you can use this video as introductory video for the Patriots and Emperors mod? It looks Napoleonic to me.
- There isn't a Portuguese sail texture
 
I was not sure it was still the good files, anyway if i wasn't sure that was the new ones that means the changes weren't important <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> feel free to upload the new 20mo pack <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I noticed the spot lights on the world map, with share to reposition the islands on the map, what would be a big work there aren't many things to do.

They supressed portugal in AOP that's why there's no texture for it, i'll probably make one for the portugal those days...

No problem for the intro, i used the music i putted for sea battles but i'm sure i can find another one that will feet correctly ^^


EDIT : I've uploaded a second version of the zip, with a new music for the video and without the skies
 
i'm sorry to say but what is the diffrence at the world map <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
 
^^' The color of the water mainly, it is less uniform, i've observed that a few effects has been changed too, the changes are mainly texture changes, i don't know something else than skinning yet, despite i'd like to know how to mod other things ...

It would also be cool if you could convert a dagger like weapon from AOP to POTC to replace the orginal dagger, because the POTC dagger sucks.

also added the fire when cannons fire

there is something wrong with smoke clouds from battle ships in the world map in your AoP stuff pack. They look like white squares.
