Assassin Main Quest

Two problems in my file :

I forgot GlassWindows.tga for the Xebec_+ but anyway I think Damski62 said it doesn't work at the moment.
I installed Locations\Inside\Residence_BackHall in PROGRAM instead of RESOURCE.

This is what happen when we are in a hurry. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I'll try and get that sorted when I install it today. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Installed now and it starts fine. Haven't played yet. Interesting that you start out with some good weapons already!
Theoretically it should be possible to start the quest with a higher character level than 1; might be logical in that case.
Not sure if that's a good idea though.

One thing I note is that the main character should get his own portrait files at some point. Thomas...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Thank you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Sorry Pieter, the nightmare goes on.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />o)

Thanks Bartolomeu. So far I've seen no truly nightmarish things though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />
Still need to actually <i>play</i> the quest though.

Couple of comments on the Xebec:
- NICE SHIP!
- On battle sails, there are no sails hoisted at all
- Crew walks through the deck
- The sails behave weird; not all of them point in the same direction when sailing

During the quest itself, I noticed that the Havana governor doesn't sit on his chair. Instead he floats in the middle of the room! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
Also, the Havana Port Admiral residence is called "house" from the outside.
And when I was at Cayman, all the soldiers got a bit angry with me after the second throwing knife. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Your officer isn't a real officer, so you don't get any advantages from his presence. He doesn't even join in any fights; he's just... there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
Also, I'm a bit fed up with visiting Speightstown (Oxbay); I've seen it SO much during the standard storyline that I'd prefer seeing it as little as possible in any other quests. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Is "final_infeliz" supposed to be "game over"? In that case, you might want to add <i>pchar.killed = true;</i> before to make sure there won't be any resurrection.
If the timers expire, should your Spanish officer try to kill you?

Then I ended up being unable to pay my crew and there was a mutiny. After killing the crew, I notice I couldn't loot my money back from them.
I thought that was supposed to work. Then shortly after, I ran out of rations and there was another mutiny.
After that mutiny, I couldn't return to sea at all. Pressing [Space] had no effect, despite the fact that I DID get the "Go to Sea" icon.
The above are not quest problems though, of course, but I figured I'd post them anyway.

I think the crew is autolooted during a mutiny. I didn't look at the code, but that's how it seems to work.

I've had problems with two mutinies back to back like that as well. Dunno what the problem is. Maybe you were totally out of crew.

I thought the game gave you too much money. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
Honestly, Pieter, you need to be more financially responsible! Hehehe!

Even after having your crew reduced from the first mutiny?

Did you try giving the crew money to raise morale? That might keep them from having a mutiny for a couple extra days even if you don't have enough to pay their full salary.

Hi,

Re Xebec:-
What happened to the texture I did for it? Now looks grey and dull,..change it back please.
Don't know what's up with the sails.....did'nt do them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Will have a look into it though.
Zareth has done a new walk file for it.....so no more walking through deck.

Re mutiny:-
I'm getting more mutiny screens than the "do you want to pay the crew" screens even though I have enough money to pay them. You have to remember to use raise moral more now & that does keep em quiet.

As for the Havana governer sitting in mid air that's a problem the Jack sparrow quest had that got fixed.

If you've got enough money that the crew gets restless (over a million) you might want to sign articles to keep them happy.

You could also deposit money with the loan shark or hide it in your ship chest. The loan shark is safer, as the money is still there if you lose your ship. The chest is more convenient as you have access to it anywhere, not just at the loanshark where you deposited it.

Have you ever considered placing the Assassin quest in a different time period than the Bartolomeu quest?

If you don't pay your crew you get an immediate morale drop. If morale was already low, it's enough to cause a mutiny. It's possible you were already starving the crew which is why their morale was low.

I think that code will put a minimum of two crewmen against you. I don't remember how the numbers are calculated for how many actual crew that represents. It's not impossible that it went negative. I don't know what happens if your crew drops to zero (or below). It might cause lockups like that.

Take heart. Originally, the crew would have just hung you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I recall having mutinies in the past with no crew being there at all and being able to reload straight to sea.

The first time in Oxbay, I took the port exit from the dungeon and so never noticed I was supposed to meet somebody in the town.
It seems to be a healthy idea to do that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
