attacking towns

i tryed to attacl a town with 108 men but it wouldnt allow me to attack. how come?

what are the conditions for attacking towns?

It needs to have a Governor rather than a mayor.

You can't attack town if they have far more soldiers than you.

when do towns get governors as the game goes on?

There are two types of settlements on the Caribbean (in the game): towns and settlements. Towns are always visible on the map and don't move around from game to game. Settlements are placed semi-randomly from game to game.

You, the player, can only attack (and convert) the first type.

Yeah, If they have a lot more troops than you have pirates, the option will be greyed out. If it is a settlement, then you can't attack. I find that within 25 troop difference is grounds for a victory.

If you're patient, you can press fire to shoot at the settlement. You will SLOWLY kill of their troops. It will also go from prosperous to modest etc.

Personally, I love the invasion game.
