Autodesc 3Ds Max9

I folowed that tuto for editnig characters, but I run into a problem. 3Ds max can't open VRML... Do I need some plugin?

I use Autodesc 3Ds Max9
 
in tutor it is written, that if I export from tool in VMRL I'll be able to edit them with 3Ds Max, but ok, I'll going to look for Maya

You CAN use 3DS MAX; I've done it myself in the past for the Mapships. But it's recommended to use Maya instead.
Personally I don't know how to work that, but it does work better if you manage it, because Maya has a PROPER exporter for GM.
 
The TOOL can't, but the GM Viewer can. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
Where is the boxsize set? Some of the ships have invalid boxsizes, which means collisions when you're 50 yards away, problems boarding, autoaiming problems, etc.
