Autosaving

Just a question that came over my mind when I last played the game. Is autosaving possible with the build mod in some way? Like a save slot for 1, automatic save which gets overwritten everytime you enter a new area. Curious that's all :hmm

Dunno if it's possible. It would be nice since I use up all of the manual saves every day.

It's possible, as long as you do it manually. xD:

But seriously, I don't think real auto-saving can be made to work.
The game just doesn't support it, and that's the reason for various limitations, such as having to load a savegame after changing the options. :facepalm

An auto-save feature would be nice though if it was possible, but if it's too much work, then we have other things to worry about... like the missing dialog files and missing sword description and GA and occasional smuggling glitches that some people are having (some of which may already be resolved)

Actually, it COULD be possible. I once tried saving upon opening the Options interface, but the only reason that wouldn't work was because the interface was open if I recall.
Still, it isn't that difficult to use the QuickSave button. :shrug

shoot, what's the quicksave and quickload buttons?

#define CTL_QUICKSAVE "VK_F4" // (not changable ingame)
#define CTL_QUICKLOAD "VK_F5" // (not changable ingame)

Well, I might try and do the next best thing, and set the quick save keye to the space bar, so everytime I press space to interact/enter a new area, it saves :)

well, keep in mind, you be tieing a lot of interactions in with saving, make sure you know what you're getting yourself into when you do that...

That would raise problems too, because the game has a limited number of saves allowed. When you'll reach the limit it will say no more saves are allowed and then you'll have to delete them, which would be unconforable too.

Deleting tho old saves only takes a minute or so. There are only 40 or so and I do it daily.

Akella Fan, quick saves are over written when you quicksave again. You are thinking about regular saves.
