Black Jack sounds

Installed patch 5 last night, and decided to try Black Jacks mega sounds. It installed easily,but never worked right. There were places with no music at all. The uninstall didn't work either. Replaced the programs folder. No joy. Replaced the resources folder. No joy. Had to delete the install and reinstall. Has anyone got this to work?

I've had Jack Black's music pack installed for quite a while and it should install fine on top of the latest modpack release.
Only important thing is to install it AFTER the modpack, so possibly even after Patch 5, though I don't think that's necessary.
In any case, can't hurt to try.

If you want to make it save try a clean install of POTC, then install Build 14 Beta 1 with all patches.

Then delete the complete content of your C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\PotC\RESOURCE\Sounds\MUSIC folder. (all of the music titles, the .ogg files in the RESOURCE\Sounds\MUSIC folder).
Then delete the C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\PotC\PROGRAM\sound folder.

Then extract the music pack into your POTC main folder. There will be a new PROGRAM\sound and new RESOURCE\Sounds\MUSIC folder in the pack so the delete ones will be replaced.

IT'S HARDLY RECOMMENDED TO MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THE DELETED FOLDERS TO REPAIR POTC IF THE MUSIC DON'T WORK AS IT SHOULD!!!!!

After extracting the music pack start a new game. Maybe you have to adjust the music volume in the options screen to full before starting the game.
Normally it should work correctly now.

If it don't work please tell me which places has no music.
When you come to a place where no music plays please do me a favor and try to change the music during the game and jump to the next title. You have to press F2 to open your character menu. Then left click on the name of your character. Normally the music change immediately so it is not necessary to change your name. Just press ESC and return to game.
Tell me if you hear music after that little cheat. If you hear music it means that only a few titles don't work. Then it could be a faulty download.
Something comparable happens to Pieter when he install the pack the first time. Some of the music titles don't extract correctly.


[edit] All right, I've located the error which occurs when patch 5 is installed so you don't have to do the whole procedure.
Installing Patch 5 changes the music_standard.c back to old version. Don't know why but it doesn't matter.
Solution: Do as Pieter suggested. Install build beta 14 and all patches then install the music pack. The music pack should be be the last thing to install cause it make changes to music_standard.c and sound.c which are included in the patch as non-modified versions.
If you do this it should work probably.

Ok, I will give it a go again. Patch 5 isn't working for me right now, so it may be a while.
