My recollection is that you saved it in X8R8G8B8, right? Rather than a DXT format?
Could try maybe using DXT1--maybe a single 4MB texture is overloading the video system somehow?

It was saved as a DXT5, I think. I've saved it as a DXT1 now, Drunken, would you mind testing it to see if it kills your game? I can email it to you.

Drunken, if you want, you could play around with it yourself with the TX Converter and see what format(s) work(s).
I.e. open TXC, find the file, convert it to TGA and then back to TX (pick a format). Then load, test, and make a note of whether it works or not.
The (other) formats I recall are:
Noncompressed (both 32 and 16 bit)
DXT1c (16bit)
DXT1 `1-bit` alpha/15bit color
DXT3 20bit? (It's 5x4 I think)

I saved the one I sent to Drunken as DXT1 `1-bit` alpha. I want to see if it still will kill his game - because if it's the cause, it's liable to kill other people's games, too...
