Hello , I'm new to this forum, just downloaded the build 12 mod, and it's a big improvement re-gameplay and authenticity etc, just wondered if anyone can explain how to improve relations so I can buy services at the shipyards as they nearly all refuse service . I notice that relations with Britain is also poor , yet I have done nothing to earn this, why would this happen if I haven't attacked any British shipping ??? I can't see any info in the various readme files on how to mend relations which actually work. I've tried talking to the governor on Redmond this has no effect on getting service at the Redmond shipyard.

One thing that sometimes helps is giving a donation to the priests, you could also maybe try and find work at the tavern, see if there are any merchants that need some one to protect them on their trading run. You could also try and change your flag e.g. put the british flag on your ship. If you do the missions, your rep will go up when you tell the governer of Redmond about the attack on Oxbay. when you fight, buy, .... or do other things ; whats the most important number ? the "native" number or the second number ?

an example: if i have """ fight skills : 1 10 """ ; if i fight, what number is "working" ?
 
The second number is the one that's used. This is your personal skill + all skill bonuses gained from items you have.

I got some Q's:

How do I make my own islands actualy appear and have a name so I can get to them cos its either they
appear with no name then I can't get to them or they have a name and its the wrong island and they
don't appear on the world map... Please help!

We actually already HAVE some new unused islands in Build 14 Alpha 8 WIP 2 (both versions), so you could use those. They still need filling in. I'll have to ask Pirate_KK to release his temporary work on that so that you could finish what he started, so that he can do something else. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />
 
oh god.. I tried to make a new reskin of capnhook.tga.tx ............................. I am soo noob I forgot ABSOLUTELY ALL!!!!! O_O well not all.. I converted it and all.. its just the hex edit part.. i didnt do it right.

EDIT: SOLVED!! I made a try with green corsair :p (I got new photoshop skills.. goes faster now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I also got a ship ready but I want to try it myself first, so I dont get insulted xD)
 
I have a question....where did you hide the starting Skill and Perk points. It used to be in buildsettings.h. I know I have asked this question twice before and someone keeps removing it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> . Which game version?
Have a look at PROGRAM\Characters\characters_init.c.
Find character with ID "blaze".
Then find the ch.skill lines for that character.

    ch.skill.Sneak = CharSneak;<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->You should just be able to replace the CharFencing and others with the value you want.

It is indeed possible it was on temp forum.....it's been awhile. It is build 13 that I'm working with....I don't download betas....finding bugs drives me crazy <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> . POTC is always in my reload list after I reload my box. This commumity has made sure of this by keeping the game as fresh as the sad wannabe games that have come out. Taking ships and and sailing never gets old for me...ever <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> . I have even thought of trying to add to the build, but coding is not my forte', and you PB my friend.....are awesome when it comes to that so I leave it to the pros. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" /> . Thank you....That will help. I have already started a new game so I won't use the knowledge this time, but as always....I will start a new one and then it will get used.
 
I was as good at coding as you were when I started. I learned by doing and from the help the forum members gave me.
And still I'm far from the best coder there is. I can do some stuff, but not actually all that much.
However, because I put all the mods together, I get all the credit. Which I don't think is fair. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
Every ship needs it's cap'n, every crew needs it's commander. I have seen the others come and go...yet you still remain. Tis' why I give you credit.....besides with out hesitation you have always answered my questions.....and Catalina. Her I haven't seen a long voyage....have you heard from her lately?

i think there WAS, actually. dunno where it went. was more of a collection of seperate files anyway.
 
I wonder what you are talking about, Morgan Terror.
Before summer hollidays I had started to work on an update for Build 13, that would have been Build 13 update 4.
But nothing was ever released.
 
several minor fixes, updates and patches for build 13 update 3 have been made. that's what i mean. one of these is the directsail mod.
 
There's several post-Build 13 files available, but no proper Update 4.
Perhaps a simple virtual sailor will manage to finish his work one day. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
