Whenever I start the game, it shows the opening two cinematics for Firaxis and Atari, the game shows the following error at the title screen:
'The instruction at "0x005cab4b" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.'
If I click OK or cancel, the game crashes or freezes respectively. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? `Re-installing` windows would be a real hassel just to play this game.
Edit: Also, I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and I'm pretty sure my drivers are up to date because I've been playing games that are just as graphically intensive as pirates and have gotten no errors.
